Postal test result time?

DD came down with a cough on Sunday morning. As we don't drive I had to order a postal test which arrived Monday am and was sent off in the am also.
Any idea how long the results will take? we have still not heard anything and the DC's schools are getting a bit snippy . Not sure what I am expected to do!

Hopefully! I've had a look and it says two days but I'm wondering whether posting it back on a bank holiday may delay things?

Outside of BH, we had our results back in less than 24 hrs, and our test went to Glasgow from SW. Really impressed!

I posted one the Tuesday after Easter and got the results the next evening.

Our postal one took 22 hours to get the results.

This was on Friday last week, posted it at 12 lunchtime and results back at 10.30am Saturday

I ordered mine on Wednesday, arrived Friday, sent straight back and results Saturday tea time.

From what I’ve seen positives are quicker than negatives (totally anecdotal but I’ve noticed)

Hmm. Bit concerned now as the DC's school is being funny about it. Would they have even collected it on Monday due to it having been a bank holiday?

We posted our test on Sunday. It was collected at 3pm-ish, delivered to the lab at 9.45pm that day (we followed using the Royal Mail tracking code) and we got the result at midnight on Monday night. So 26-ish hours after being delivered to the lab but it was a public holiday.

You can check the collection times for priority postboxes on the Royal Mail website. Our nearest priority post box collects on Sundays and on public holidays (Sunday collection time) but not all priority postboxes have a daily collection.

Crap crap crap! DH has posted it in the wrong box. No idea what we do now!

It also says not to send in on a bank holiday. I've really ballsed this up haven't I? I'm supposed to get my second vaccine on Saturday!

Can you get to a drive through or walk in test centre? If not can you order another test online now and get it sent back by tomorrow afternoon if it gets delivered in time?

I think your still within the testing time of 5 days to be able to get an accurate result. I could be wrong on the amount of time though so double check but if you can test by tomorrow, you should hopefully get a result back by Saturday morning latest.

I've called them and they're sending another one. Worried about telling the school as they're being a bit funny about them not attending. Oh well! Just praying it will be OK for me to get my second jab on Saturday.

Just tell the school you’ve not received the results, there is not a lot you can do about it, I know it’s not ideal missing more school than needed but they’ll be glad when you’ve got a result rather than just sending them in and risking it for others.

Fingers crossed for a negative result soon

Ok so I typed the number under the barcode into the royal mail tracking thing and it's saying that it was delivered last night. Hoping that that is accurate as the woman I spoke to didn't mention looking at that. Hoping there's still a chance it will come today.
