How quick are postal PCR covid tests?

Just that really.
Sent home from work today with a bad cough. Arranged postal test as I don't have my own transport and get get to nearest tsst centre on foot. Not allowed to use bus or taxi.
If postal test was ordered today about 3pm and I receive it in next couple of days, how soon after sending it back do I get results?
How are results communicated to me?

I had results via email and text within 24 hours of me posting the test back

I'm sure you know this but make sure you post in one of the priority post boxes.

Once you've posted the test its about 24-48 hours and they take around the same time to get to you. So you should have the result by Sunday at the latest, and they will text you and email you it

It varies (have done a few as I use the Zoe symptom study app and they invite you for any symptoms not just cough/fever/taste and smell) but most recent ones have been within 24 hours of posting.

I do them weekly and recently they have always come back within 24 hours of posting. Good luck
