What side effects did you have? With any vaccine?

I’m preparing myself for any flare ups!

I have M.E. didn't affect me at all though I am doing incredibly well with barely any M.E. symptoms at all for the last couple of years.

I had the common side affects for 7 days. But I've been fine since.

Hopefully you will be fine too xx

InglouriousBasterd · 04/05/2021 18:35

That’s really good to know, thanks Speckled!

Fibro here. I'm only two weeks post the first dose (AZ) and was also worried but seem to be fine so far. I had all the common side effects too though.

Heavymetaldetector · 04/05/2021 18:41

Just joining the thread as have ME and am eagerly awaiting the vaccine. I’m 32 so still a while to go. I had written to my gp asking for a jab but ME is not “on the list of conditions” so no sale.

InglouriousBasterd · 04/05/2021 18:43

Oh fingers crossed. Sounds positive so far!!

My Dm does - she has had 2 x Pfizer without any flare ups.

Athinginitself · 04/05/2021 18:50

I did have a flare up but was already quite unwell at time, really didn't want my 2nd dose as was feeling terrible already and trapped in bed all the time but its made no difference other than feeling slightly worse for a couple of days.

AlexandraEiffel · 04/05/2021 19:05

My friend has ME and from what she told me it sounded the same as lots of others, bit rubbish for a couple of days. Nothing out of the ordinary

HardyPlants · 04/05/2021 19:11

Have Fibro and like you was very worried. I have had 1st dose of AstraZeneca. Didn't sleep all night as felt ill and had flu like shivers within first 24hrs of jab. Woke up the following morning and felt completely fine. Then on day 8, i suddenly developed feverish shivers again. Took a dose of paracetamol and went to bed. All was well the following day. Since then nothing and feel completely fine.
Had the jab on 31/3.

Pugdoglife · 04/05/2021 19:12

Fibro here, no side effects from az other than aching arm for a few days.

ItsSnowJokes · 04/05/2021 19:16

ME here and I am on a vaccine trial for novavax. Have had 2 confirmed vaccines now and I felt awful after the 2nd one with the normal side effects. That lasted 60 hours and now back to normal. I still feel a bit tired but I think that's from the busy weekend I have had. My ME has been well controlled for the past 2 years though.

SirDidymus · 04/05/2021 19:16

My mum has fibro and got vaccinated the same times as me (we've both had both vaccines) - she had virtually no side effects at all. A bit of fatigue with the first one but (as she said) it's hard to know if that was the jab or just the impact of a day out Grin

SirDidymus · 04/05/2021 19:17

p.s. pfizer

lunar1 · 04/05/2021 19:23

I work with quite a lot of people with Fibromyalgia, no problems caused by either vaccine.

Tomnooktoldmeto · 04/05/2021 21:05

I have severe fibro and had the Oxford vaccine I did have a very rough time for a few days but think this was more likely due to my coeliac disease

A lot of my symptoms were abdominal and seemed more like mesenteric adenitis

InglouriousBasterd · 04/05/2021 21:23

Oh this is really interesting to know! Thank you all. Hopefully will get away with just a rubbish day or two!

I have fibro and had the first astra zenica.Thought I got away with no problems then 12 hours later felt awful and stayed in bed with flu like achy symptoms until the next day. Probably felt my normal self the day after that.

Ponoka7 · 05/05/2021 00:10

I've got CF. I had no side effects from my first dose, only a sore arm. My second dose has left me feeling exhausted. I'm sleeping of a day again. I'm in a bit more pain. I had it two weeks ago yesterday. I've felt a bit better today though.

Wheresmybiscuit3 · 05/05/2021 00:30

Yes. Fibromialgia. Had AZ. Felt poorly for about 3-4 days with chills etc. Had a sore arm for just over a week. Haven’t had second dose yet

MuggleStudiesResearchProject · 05/05/2021 00:50

I have fibro. I had 7 days of usual side effects with az, plus it seemed to trigger a flare. Nearly two months later I've still got more joint pain than usual. I also have hypothyroidism, and I feel like my TSH could be low now (I'm very attuned to my symptoms), when it was fine and very stable pre-vaccine. Still glad to have had it though, and will be having my second when it's due.

MoreOnlyMore · 05/05/2021 01:28

Have had both Jabs. No side effects. I have MS.

CervixHaver · 05/05/2021 01:48

Yes I have both Fibro & CFS and had AstraZenecca. I had painful arm from the injection itself, along with horrendous Flu-like aches & pains all over my body - neuralgic pain I believe it's called.
Bearing in mind I also have Buprenorphine patches for pain relief, I was still in almost agony for two days. However that's all it lasted for - two days and it was gone. No fever that I recall.

CervixHaver · 05/05/2021 01:49

To add - The neuralgic aches & pains did not begin until around 12-18 hours later

InglouriousBasterd · 05/05/2021 08:40

Agh I get neuralgia CervixHaver so that could be something to bear in mind. It seems to be a mixed bag!
