Hi everyone

Does anyone know if the free dental has been extended due to covid 19?

I obviously couldn't get dental work done during my pregnancy & once she was born the dentists were closed due to covid. When I was actually able to get an appointment it was February and treatment started March time. My 12 months are now up unfortunately 😔 im due to have a root canal done and I wouldn't be able to afford to pay.

Hope someone can help me, I've searched Google and can't get an answer.

Thanks 😘

Unfortunately it hasn't been extended. It was a little while ago the decision was made to to extend the medical exemptions. There were petitions for it and the government responded that it isn't going to be as apparently all dentistry was open from June 2020. Completely ignoring the fact that most NHS dentist treatment wasn't properly running until much later.

NHS root canal is under band 2 which is actually only £65.20

Ive got no idea what is going on with dentists or opticians, though Im in Scotland. I needed emergency treatment at the dentist during Lockdown and had to pay for it. Ive no idea whether it was private or NHS treatment I paid for. Was just grateful to get rid of the pain. I don't even know if routine check ups have resumed.
