Vaccine after surgery?

I had surgery on Friday. I'm due for the covid vaccination but obviously surgery carries risk of blood clots and was advised to wear surgical stockings for some days as am currently immobile. Obviously, I think I should wait, but until when? Seems ott to get an appointment just to ask the GP!

Ask your surgeon?

Ring 119 or ring your GP. You won’t be given an appointment but you may get an answer.

It's a completely different type of clot, but check with your surgeon or GP.

I believe the guidance is to wait 7 days between them but that’s mainly due to the possibility of side effects being confused W with complications from the op.

It’s a different type of clot but I know what you mean, it feels counter-intuitive to have the two close together for this reason ... I’m having the jab and wisdom teeth removal (under general) 8 days apart. For a bigger operation though I might be more cautious
