Does anyone know what the current test turn around time is like at the moment? Booked in for test tomorrow first thing, hoping it'll be less than 24 hours.

General areas would be helpful too!

My friend was tested at 9.30am Tuesday morning, and recieved the result 1pm Wednesday.

When I last had a test (March) I got the results in less than 24 hours.

guiltynetter · 30/04/2021 07:34

I'm in the North West and when I had to get 2 tests a few weeks ago the results came back in 12 hours for both, it was amazing!

Emelene · 30/04/2021 07:36

15 hours in Dorset last week, I was impressed.

user1483473283 · 30/04/2021 07:39

12 hours north Essex on Monday

Brilliant! Thanks Grin
Praying for a quick turnaround.

Can't wait until we don't need to isolate for symptoms in the future, it's such a nightmare with young children who pick everything up Sad

I'm on Reading outskirts and put a home test in a post box with 4.45pm collection yesterday. No result as yet, although only been 20 hours since collection. ..

HaNNaHC92 · 30/04/2021 13:02

I had a test a few weeks ago (drive thru). Had it done 10am and had the results back via email at 10.30pm the same day and a text around 8am the next morning. South Wales.

Ihaveoflate · 30/04/2021 13:04

Less than 24 hrs (W York's) from Sunday to Monday morning.

Bubalie · 30/04/2021 18:59

I had my test yesterday at 10:30am and my results were in at 05:30 this morning. Less than 24hrs 😊

Wirral, consistently 13 hours after the session closes. I have had several tests as I’m my DM’s named person.

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 30/04/2021 19:45

Because she lives in a care home. Should have clarified!

Sunshinev · 01/05/2021 07:46

10.30am test results back next day 2.30am via e mail. london

Irishterrier · 01/05/2021 07:49

OP why don't you get some at home testing kits? All adults are supposed to test themselves at home twice a week now.

I do it and it's so easy and quick.

JustKeepSw1mming · 01/05/2021 08:37

So the home PCR test send 4.45pm Thur collection, got email results 2am Sat and text results 7am Sat. Pretry good turn around!

JustKeepSw1mming · 01/05/2021 08:38

Above post was Reading outskirts

MatthewHBpig · 01/05/2021 09:42

Anyone know if it's slower at the weekend? Tested this morning 9. Really need it back fast!

The home testing kits are lateral flow tests, not PCR tests. PCR tests are only available in test centres, or as individual kits that have to be posted back for processing.

If you’re symptomatic you should have a PCR test, not a lateral flow test.

We do but child had symptoms so PCR test was required.
