AZ Clots = LATEST From MHRA

90 replies

Emma2021 · 28/04/2021 20:31

Hi

With a lot of talk re clots, and those worried re first jab and possibly many worried re second AZ jabs, the 'Yellow Card' scheme by MHRA
releases details every so often the last lot were on 23 April 2012.

Next lot due tomorrow I think

Read link re first jab clots and 1 for second jab and more and how many people/doses accounted for those clots.

I'm hoping that on the next update possibly tomorrow, there will be great news re second dose of AZ and clots.

I'm also hoping our NHS to udate re treatments, better treatment for these clots.

The link details 23 April re AZ and Pifer side affects & same link will give you access to updates hopefully tomorrow

coronavirus-yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

Please feel free to thank me.

PS. There is nothing wrong with wanting honest, accurate, speedy info re vaccines and and side affects as then you can make a more informed decision. FYI i got my second a few days ago was and am worried but on balance of risk as it stands today, I'd get it/vaccine again and I'm over 50 years of age.

Thanks

Officials have emphasised the side effect is "vanishingly" rare and advised that most people still get the shots, and AstraZeneca has pointed to regulator recommendations that the vaccine is safe and effective

But it appears it's not so 'vanishingly rare' indeed the regulator has already decided it's not rare enough to warrant under 30s having it.

MiniMaxi · 29/04/2021 17:48

4 incidents out of 4.4 million second doses thought obviously many of those will still be in the 21 day window

MiniMaxi · 29/04/2021 17:49

*though

Very helpful thank you.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/04/2021 18:58

Its funny how they are only reporting cases about the AZ vaccine.
There have been issues with the Pfizer and heart issues.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/04/2021 18:59

Much higher numbers too.

Emma2021 · 29/04/2021 19:05
@Emma2021, I think the report mentions 4.4 million second AZ vaccinations.

I would personally also appreciate a statement from the Government saying that since it’s been established that this condition can be diagnosed with a blood test, they guarantee that those with the known symptoms within the known time frame won’t be sent home without the test.

As far as I’m concerned we have a deal: for my age group you only provide this brand, you owe me first class care if something happens.
@User657849

I did not ee the figures can you please direct me?
Good post and I agree.

Thank you very much
I've not had the chance to fully read today's update but when I was forensically examining last weeks update they did mention the pifzer lot.

I will check this evening, night as busy just now

Thanks

Indeed yes, but am I missing something as figures appear to be similar for the 30 to 40 and the 40 to 50.

Yep, few 20 to 30's have had them as well as 30 to 40 but we need info why are they stalling and imo and I hope i am wrong, the figures do not read well and they are trying not to worry people I guess.

We need the breakdowns now so people can decide if to jabs or not.

I am older but still worried and one of our children just over 30 had their second one last week of the AZ as they were considered to risky for the Pfizer as they have severe allergy.

@Emma2021, it’s under the heading Yellow Card Report - Vaccine doses Administered - after Table 2

As of 21 April, an estimated 11.2 million first doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and 22.0 million first doses of the Oxford University/AstraZeneca vaccine, and 0.1 million first doses of the Moderna vaccine had been administered, and around 6.8 million and 4.4 million second doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and Oxford University/AstraZeneca vaccine respectively.

@User657849
Many thanks.
Point of note, the 4.4 million won't all fall into the 21 day clot alert window but hopefully a good 2 million will.
It is only in recent weeks that 2nd jabs have taken off when before it was a few thousand a day.
Thank you, great stuff

We need, I demand more infor from this lame government.

@User657849

Thank you.
I was thinking about that, re low platelet count and it was never clear to me the way the write the report as i thought they mean the vaccine resulted in that then the clots. I guess they don't want to slow down dramatically the uptake of the jabs or overwhelm gp's blood testing facilities atm

From the FT nothing new but easier read and sadly no mention re second jabs

Thank you good post.

The press carrys some weight and they neeed to bang on about clots, vaccine and would blood tests help and if so, why not offer them to those most at risk.

Sorry guys but that's why i asked as i felt it would have been breaking news.

@Soulmusic

Good morning

You are the second one to post this. I ignored the first one but felt i had to make a comment this time.

It was a tongue in the cheek comment, lighthearted in this serious topic. I do not wish to publicly humiliate you as it is not my style, I will therefore leave it at this.

OP posts:
Gothichouse40 · 02/05/2021 10:17

Im not good with figures/statistics. Can someone tell me is there still a risk of these rare blood clots on having the second Astra Zeneca vaccination? Do we still need to look for blood clot sympytoms after the second vaccine?

PurplePumpkinDream · 02/05/2021 13:00

@Gothichouse40 I don’t think they have enough data so far, so I guess it’s best to watch out for possible unusual symptoms like severe headache not helped by painkillers. But I believe some have said it’s much less likely to happen second time around, if at all.

Gothichouse40 · 02/05/2021 13:27

Thank you Purple, honestly I find some things to do with this blood clot issue so confusing.

Bubalie · 02/05/2021 13:29

@Gothichouse40 on the last report there were 4 cases reported after the second AZ vaccine.

Gothichouse40 · 02/05/2021 17:30

Thank you Bubalie

Soulmusic · 03/05/2021 11:55

Publicly humiliate me? Get a fucking grip.
