So I had a PCR test booked for my daughter at 9am this morning. She doesn't have the classic 3 symptoms but she was complaining of a headache and dizziness and despite a negative LFT on Sunday, I thought I should probably check. So I kept her and her sister off school and we drove down to the test centre, a 10 mile drive. I booked 9am to try to cause minimal disruption to my workday (my two are old enough to entertain themselves when unwell and I am working from home).
Arrived there only to find the mobile testing unit 'didn't show up' and I could either wait for 2 hours (at a site with no facilities) or come back later.
Does this happen a lot?! I've booked a home test now, even if takes longer, I really don't want to to the drive again and possibly be turned away. We took another LFT today and all still negative but will isolate anyway till results of home PCR in.
