LFT as a spit test?

Out of interest, does anyone know if an LFT would pick up covid or give an accurate result if one simply used it as a spit test? My first one tonight didn't have enough of the mixer liquid to perform the test properly so I did another one, but I was just idly wondering!

Not the innova ones. There are saliva test ones available I think.

The areas swabbed are where the virus would test strongest. I very much doubt you'd get the same result from saliva.

If you mean could you spit /drool directly into the test strip: no, because you need the chemicals in the liquid supplied.
