Astrazeneca side effects.......sore arm.

I originally posted at the end of February when I received my first Astrazeneca jab and the biggest side effect for me was a really sore, heavy arm with limited movement and stretch. It lasted around 10 days and in truth, probably longer but much less painful.

Fast forward to today, April 22 and my second jab. I mentioned to my vaccinator that my arm had been really sore for many days and when he looked at my arm he said he could see why....... something to do with the deltoid muscle. Didn't catch exactly what he said as I was getting my clothing adjusted, but could it have been that it was injected too high, too shallow? I don't know. It's still a bit sore three hours later but I've got my paracetamol ready for pain control if I need it this time, but doubt it will be anywhere near as bad.

The deltoid muscle is quite big, so it's quite difficult to miss if you know what you are doing. Are you particularly overweight or underweight or anything like that?

Jabs do make arm hurt. Any jab. A jab in backside makes that hurt. Jab in gums makes them hurt. My point being it's normal. Don't worry

I'm 5ft 3in and weigh just under 8 and a half stone, My arms are pretty slim, so maybe that had something to do with it. Anyway I feel fine at this point and glad I'm now fully vaccinated.
