Does anyone know how long after the second dose you get full protection?

It depends on your own immune system; lots of people get protection 21 days after the first dose, a very rare few won't get protection even after two doses, other rare few may have reduced protection, and other rare few dip take a little longer to build up immunity. 7 days after second dose was reported in December by CHM as giving the best immunity.

I'm four weeks after the second jab, and my immunology test came back yesterday saying 250 'whatevers'. Apparently below 0.8 means you have no protect, and above 0.8 means you have protection. I'm hoping that 250 is very positive!

Three weeks after the first dose to start having protection, and then seven days after the second for that protection to increase again.

That's great - I had assumed it was 3 weeks like the first dose! Is it similar timings for full protection after the AZ vaccine too?

In the US we're being told 2 weeks after your second dose.

I'm sure it varies, but that's when we can do things like travel without quarantining, not quarantine after spending time with people who have tested positive for Covid, etc.

Had my second dose today. I asked and was told 90-95% protection after 12 days. (I'm going to celebrate by going to a dentist appointment on public transport - I know how to live!)

LOL this made me laugh. Oh how our lives have changed.

I went into the M & S foodhall today - felt like a real devil!

My Dad had it last week and was told over 90% once it has fully developed.

According to the ONS study, protection starts as early as 7 days after first dose. By 2 weeks after first dose it's ~75% against symptomatic infection and 80-90% against serious illness.
Levels plateau about 3 weeks after first dose at ~85% (symptomatic illness) and ~95% (serious illness) which is then boosted a little more by the second dose.

Peak protection is likely to be 2-3 weeks after 2nd dose.
