Temperature high then normal

DS is complaining of a headache and a hurting tummy.

He was sick at the weekend but his gran had fed him more sugar than he's normally allowed in a month so we put it down to that. I'm fuming but that's another thread.

Since then he's been fine, or says his tummy hurts and he has a headache but then he says he's fine again,

This afternoon he's said he has a headache and he was burrowed under a fleece blanket in an unventilated room- he insists on closed windows and curtains he's an 8yo teenager.

I took him upstairs and took his temp with a zappy thermometer it was 38.2 and red. I tried it 4 more times and by the 3rd go it was normal. I did it on his tummy again it was high but at 3rd go normal.

Should I read anything into this? Upstairs is cool with open window not stuffy. Was he just hot because he's been under the blanket? Otherwise why would the temp normalise?

WWYD?

He’s hot, and generally feeling unwell, you should get him tested....

I would probably do a test anyway to be honest just so you know one way or another.
