Long term side effects from vaccine?

This isn't a scaremongering thread. I am very grateful to have had the vaccine and my reaction is WAY better than getting the virus.

I did feel very ill for 36 hours after having it, and since having it I have felt quite dizzy, breathless and lethargic. Has anyone else had this? Maybe it's not connected.

I felt rough for a couple of days, then lethargic for another week or so. Fine since then, jab was about 6 weeks ago. When was your jab?

Bellabelloo · 13/04/2021 22:32

About 3 and a half weeks ago.

I don't think feeling ill for 36hrs would be considered a long term effect.

But feeling very grotty for a few days after seems a common side effect, yes

Bellabelloo · 13/04/2021 22:41

No, sorry, I felt pretty rotten for 36 hours, but almost a month later I still feel breathless, dizzy and really tired.

I’d contact GP regardless of having the vaccine or not. You potentially have a health condition unrelated (or arguably related) to the vaccine. Those symptoms are not normal and would suggest low iron levels to me. A simple blood test would confirm or deny this. Be an advocate for ones own health contact a gp.

I had mine a week ago im a sweaty cold mess ever since I personally think my thyroid has overreacted (I have graves disease) and I'm giving is a few days to settle but blimey I feel rough

Aside from contacting your GP you should also report it yourself via the yellow card system which will enable 'them' to build the data to understand if this is common.

Cornettoninja · 14/04/2021 08:39

Do you have any idea what your iron levels are like usually? It may be that the vaccine has sapped some of your reserves (some side effects can be pretty harsh physically) or just tipped you over the edge because those are the exact symptoms I had when I was very anaemic.

I’m absolutely not a doctor but just wanted to reassure you that your symptoms aren’t necessarily pointing to anything sinister. You need to consult your GP really.

Thanks all. I have booked a blood test already (having it on Monday). Maybe that will shed some light. X

Have you logged any symptoms or side effects using the Yellow Card system?

Don't assume the health issues are from the vaccine though. You should get them checked out.
