Lateral Flow Tests at home

I’m sorting out returning to the office plans for colleagues and wondered why we’d encourage staff to go to the local lateral flow centre rather than order tests to do at home. What am I missing?

Are they doubting people won't do them properly at home? It would be easy to log a negative result without ever doing the test.

We either got ours delivered home or we went to the local test centre to pick them up.

No, I don’t think there’s any trust issue. We’ve been open throughout with skeleton staff and possibly the at home kits weren’t available when the drop in was? Several ‘not yet returned’ colleagues are saying they’d rather do it at home than go to the draughty sports hall a 10 min walk away and I couldn’t think why not! Thank you @nordica

We have a local testing centre, possibly a pilot as I’ve been going there for months. Thanks @Realitea. So I think we’ll ask staff to order them to their home address and have a batch at work as back up.

We have a lateral flow site too, you go and pick up more tests than you can get if you order them at home. I think it’s 7 if ordered and 28 if you pick them up

I think until last week, not everyone could order to home. Weren't home LFT for people associated with kids at school or nursery.
And now any adult in England can order for home testing?

Thanks all! That’s really helpful. Until I investigated I didn’t even realise you could do it at home and get a result without posting off, so hadn’t looked further into it, due to it taking too long.
