What happened to Boris updating us today regarding the road map?
Are we on target for over night stays on 17th May etc...

Prince Philip.
All government TV briefings have been cancelled for the time being unless very urgent.

Cantstandsmugness · 12/04/2021 20:29

OK, so unlikely until next week now?

Yes there won’t be any external comms unless urgent until after the funeral.

OK cool, thank you

So far there's no reason to expect it won't happen. The vaccine roll out continues, we haven't seen much of a drop in total vaccines even with the worry about an April dip in supply and now we have Moderna too. Cases, hospitalizations and deaths all continue to fall.

Bloody Prince Phillip. 😉

Honestly though, it’s like they are forcing us to mourn his death. It’s incredibly sad for the Queen & his family obviously but he’s a 99 year old man who had an interesting & very privileged life. I’m not remotely sad about it. I feel far sadder for all those who have lost their lives to covid well before their time.
I found a couple programmes on his life interesting to watch but he’s really not that important. The Queen, I’d expect all this fuss. Her husband, not so much!

I believe the government will announce a week before whether restrictions can be further lifted on 17 May. They need time to monitor how the lifting this week impacts on numbers, hospital admissions etc.

I totally appreciate we've lost a member of the Royal Family who was much loved by his family, friends and some of the general public, but have to say I don't agree with life being put on hold.

It’s on sky news now that Boris is saying that it’s lock down which has reduced the numbers not the vaccinations! Which obviously lockdown has helped but it really makes me think they haven’t a clue if the vaccines are going to work..
Am not now holding my breath for the next stage of unlock on 17th May! And I bet he is really pleased he has a weeks hiatus before telling us anything else!
