"Are cases starting to rise after England's lockdown easing on March 29? UK's daily Covid cases go UP by nearly a third in a week to 3,568 while deaths halve to 13 - as England dashes to shops and pubs to celebrate next step towards freedom" Daily Mail
I hope one day the press is held accountable for all the mental health issues headlines like this course. And as always further down the page they are saying the reopening is too slow.

The press's job is to sell papers. Sometimes they do that by reporting the news, mostly though they do it by sensationalising it (as in this case) or by telling people what they want to hear (MM is the queen of evil) regardless of the facts.

SummerHouse · 12/04/2021 19:12

Shambolic, click bait reporting. I just hope people are savvy enough to not take it at (two) face value.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 12/04/2021 19:13

Have cases not gone up then? If they have, then the press will report that.

SummerHouse · 12/04/2021 19:15

Cases have gone up due to numbers added today not previously recorded. It's a totally misleading number of cases today.

FourTeaFallOut · 12/04/2021 19:16

Headlines should never be questions. The answer is always invariably no on account of the fact that if it were true, it wouldn't be a fucking question. Lazy arsed journalism selling news that isn't.

megletthesecond · 12/04/2021 19:18

With so many secondary kids being tested there's bound to be an increase. That doesn't mean it's a huge problem.

Delatron · 12/04/2021 19:22

It’s old cases being added in though. Some from months ago. So not reflective of what is happening this week. That’s the info we want.

It is misrepresentative to claim that total is from today.
