Test for a baby?

My two month old son has developed a dry cough.

I'm quite an anxious FTM so I'd like to get him checked out with it but I know I'll likely need a CV test first.

Can you or has anyone here, tested a baby this young?

No one else in the family has any symptoms at all of Covid but I know that doesn't necessarily mean it's not that.

If I did test him and it were negative, would the GP see him?

In areas there are 'red zones' for those who have covid symptoms. My DS who is 1 had a cough and sore throat and they sent me to a red zone because he didn't have a test.
Phone 111 and see what they advise.

Why do you want the GP to see him with a cough? I know you say youre a FTM but unless he's struggling to breathe and / or pulling his chest in when he takes a breath he doesn't need to go to the GP.

He’s probably got a bit of a cold. Just keep him warm and hydrated.
