Questions about exposure/symptoms

Hopefully someone can come along and help me.
Ds tested positive on Wednesday, caught it on the Friday before. No symptoms. Tested negative with LF tests up until Wednesday.
Could he still develop symptoms?
I'm still testing negative with the LF tests and it's been a week since he caught it..is it then a given that I have avoided it so far?
We're all isolating so it doesn't matter really I'm just curious.
Ds has already had it once but that was a year ago now. He was really ill with it that time. I feel so sad for him stuck in his room. He is 20 so capable of doing it but it's really crappy for him.

Pretty sure the incubation period 2 to 6 days so would think that if no symptoms after 6 days not going to get any. How can you be sure contracted it on Friday before though?

99% chance of symptoms are by day 10 after exposure. So yes, still a chance but less chance every day.

I hope he continues to feel well in himself.

Are you insisting he still isolated within your shared home?

@Iootraw1 we’re sure it was then as the person he was with had just got out of hospital and really wanted to see ds. They stayed outside but his whole family have since tested positive. Ds had been doing regular lateral flow tests beforehand and after seeing them he tested positive (five days later - same day as they tested positive!)
@yeOldeTrout yes he’s stuck in his cell/bedroom. I feel so sad for him! He is 20 though. If he was a child I wouldn’t have made him isolate.

Sorry to raise this post again - ds still has no symptoms. For how long is he contagious? Just wondering when it’s safe for him to come out of his room.
Me and dh are still testing negative thank goodness
