3 weeks; 21 days.

Or that’s what MIL & FIL were told. MIL had a countdown GrinConfused

3 weeks - according to Tim Spector (Zoe app).

They still see a few people getting infected 2 weeks after the first dose. The number drops to a very low level (nearly zero) after 3 weeks.

3 weeks. I was booked in for a routine GP appt 3 weeks after Pfizer vaccine as that's when it would have reached its 'peak'.

Re: second dosage - the official (and overly conservative) message is 2 weeks but, from the practical perspective, 1 week is sufficient.

Seven or more days after the second dose, vaccine efficacy then rose to 95% (90.3% to 97.6%), with eight covid-19 cases reported in the vaccine group and 162 cases in the placebo group.

My parents got Moderna and thought they were fully immunised straight after. I needed to remind them that it is three weeks. They had no clue.

Earlgrey666 · 08/04/2021 10:52

7 days after the second pfizer I think

couldnotshould · 08/04/2021 11:46

Israel give the vaccine passport 1 week after the second dose IIRC

bookworm1632 · 08/04/2021 12:07

Your risk of serious illness/death is massively reduced a mere 14 days after the first dose.

Your risk of being contagious to others may take longer to fall - which is why I guess Israel don't issue a passport until after the 2nd dose.

I can’t find any definite answer on a uk gov website. It does look like Pfizer assessed one week after second dose and Moderna two weeks after second dose. As I say it won’t change my behaviour .....eyes Prosecco
