How long for symptoms to show?

I went to see my mum on Saturday as she was sick. She had really bad vertigo and couldnt stand up etc. Was sick. Had a bit of a temp (37.7). Was very tired etc.

She was ill with very similar symptoms about 2 years and ago and ended up in hospital. Presuming it was similar I went to see her and help her etc. I washed and sanitised my hands regularly.

She has since said that she feels like she had flu and that a friend who she went for a walk with the day before also feels the same.

So we are erring on the side of caution and have ordered her a test in the post. I will be able to stay at home for a few days until she gets the results so thats OK.

So I saw her on Saturday/Sunday and Monday.

How long do symptoms take to show should she had COVID?

I have lateral flow tests as I have DC so I will do one of those.

Up to ten days - hence the ten day isolation period for close contacts.

An average of 5 days. Up to 14. You know if you get symptoms you need a pcr test not lateral flow?

@northernsoullover I don't have any symptoms, but thought it would be good to do a Lateral Flow test anyway as I have some.

Covid can cause ear problems.
Were you wearing a mask? Knowing she didnt feel well/had a temp

Justdowhatyouweretold · 07/04/2021 14:07

I didn't wear a mask, the temp didn't show until Monday. We were so sure it was another case of what she had before.

I've just done a lateral flow test and it's negative. Which is good. But am working from home so don't really need to go anywhere for the next day or 2.
