Would you call the police if neighbours had family round?

Just wondering if people will still call the police if next door had more than 2 households not in the garden?

I wouldnt report but would roll my eyes and judge you a bit for thinking your special but in reality i probably wouldnt even notice.

I did report someone at the other end of the road last night for having a massive party but i would have done in normal times anyway because his guests were out in the street shouting and screaming and jumping on cars at 1am the party itself made me raise my eyes and think he was a twat the naked man on top of my car was the reason for the police call.

Putting people at risk of serious illness is hurting others you chump

The people who were at risk have been vaccinated now surely.

TheJerkStore · 04/04/2021 09:55

No.

It's time we started getting back to normal. It's ridiculous that we've still got such strict restrictions.

TheImber · 04/04/2021 09:55

waxonwaxoff

You are right. They will be mixing in a couple of months. When the situation is very different. Not right now when it's still possible for things to slide back to the way things were.

I dont think thats a complicated concept. Why are people struggling to understand it?

Have you ever heard of long covid?

AnneElliott · 04/04/2021 09:59

No. A proper party with loud music and loads of people yes. 3 households rather than 2 in the garden no.

And allowing the virus to spread amongst those not yet vaccinated seriously increases the risk of genetic mutation and the possibility of vaccine resistant strains to form.

I mean come on, it's GCSE level biology stuff, yet so many people are like 'it's been long enough, we need to get back to normal'

Like I said, I genuinely despair for humanity.

RosieLemonade · 04/04/2021 10:01

FFS 10 people died 28 days after testing positive yesterday. It's over. Some people on here are so desperate for it to carry on.

Me too but for very different reasons.

LaceyBetty · 04/04/2021 10:05

I wouldn't report, but would judge. Who do think you are and why don't the rules apply to you and your family? If we slip backwards it's people like you and your family to blame.

userxx · 04/04/2021 10:05

@TheImber I genuinely despair about people like yourself. It's time to start living again, your choice to lead a miserable existence but don't judge those of us who won't be.

MRex · 04/04/2021 10:08

A bunch of friends and family, no of course not.
30 or more, yes. That's being too reckless right now at a level that will feed back into the community. Once cases drop below 1,000/ day or vaccinations go over 70% first dose, then I wouldn't report regardless of the law, because it wouldn't matter.

TheImber · 04/04/2021 10:08

Rosie seriously, do you think that or are you trying to be provocative?

When the vaccine resistant strain finally emerges (and its not if, it's when) we need to have kept cases down for as long as possible to enable the vaccine production industry to switch to producing the new vaccine

If we just throw all precautions away now and go back to normal, that strain will emerge sooner and we will have people dying from more than one strain.

Seriously, can't you see why that would he a disaster?

PeterPomegranate · 04/04/2021 10:09

No. Never would and never did.

No. I don't care if they have a massive party as long as they invite us.

PeterPomegranate · 04/04/2021 10:10

As per others - a massive party I might but I haven’t seen that. Three families no.

Things will go back to normal, eventually.

But if you choose to 'start living' e.g breaking the sensible and easy to follow rules before it's safe to do so just so you can meet friends then you literally have blood on your hands. I hope you can live with that.

TheJerkStore · 04/04/2021 10:12

So what's your plan? What do you think will be different in a few weeks time when two households can meet up indoors? Or in a few months time when all restrictions are lifted?

Hallyup5 · 04/04/2021 10:12

No, unless they were creating a huge amount of noise or generally being a nuisance then I couldn't care less what others choose to get up to.

PinkBuffalo · 04/04/2021 10:12

@Bluntness100

No of course not. But I’d not have done it in full lock down either. It would have to be fairly bad before I called the police on my neighbours.
Same
TheImber · 04/04/2021 10:13

Idris grief isn't an excuse for selfishness.

I'm sorry for your loss, but your decision will contribute to lots of other people losing their fathers or mothers. I hope you can live with that.

Betty000 · 04/04/2021 10:13

Oh behave!

rizzo23 · 04/04/2021 10:14

@TheImber how do you know a strain will emerge that's resistant to the vaccine? I'm not arguing I'm genuinely interested in what claim and from what I understand you are saying we'll need yet another vaccine because the ones that are available now will be rendered useless?

TheJerkStore · 04/04/2021 10:14

What a load of rubbish.
