Would you call the police if neighbours had family round?

Just wondering if people will still call the police if next door had more than 2 households not in the garden?

Probably best I dont...police my peak in my house at the same time and see all the people I've got round Grin

FishWithoutABike · 04/04/2021 09:11

No that would be a horrible thing to do. Also you don’t know peoples circumstances it might be okay

FluffMagnet · 04/04/2021 09:12

Dear God. My neighbours have had family round all the way through. They have horses and the daughter's horse is kept there too, and they may also have a childcare bubble going on too, so there are valid "excuses", but honestly I think the entire family have just been carrying on as usual. Ditto the family opposite. Their risks to take and none of my business. When the rules and guidance have made so little sense over the past year, and personal liberty curtailed beyond belief, I do not blame them.

Jocasta2018 · 04/04/2021 09:12

No!
It's all guidance not law. I just can't be arsed with it. I don't mix with them socially so it's no skin off my nose (what does that mean?).

BRB2021 · 04/04/2021 09:13

Yes, why not? They've got nothing better to do with their time have they
Hmm

Baileysforchristmas · 04/04/2021 09:15

That’s good to hear, I have Mum and Dad, my son and his girlfriend coming for lunch today, my mums worried we’re all going to get arrested 😂 my neighbours are lovely so don’t think they will care but just worried what others would think.

OP posts:
perfectfacepaint · 04/04/2021 09:16

Absolutely not. Op, please get a life Thanks

Midlifelady · 04/04/2021 09:18

Ah so it's you breaking the rules.

SpiderinaWingMirror · 04/04/2021 09:19

No.
But I have had to juggle some decisions that break the rules this Easter.
I would never call the police on people having family round.

TheImber · 04/04/2021 09:22

OP. I'm sorry but it's people like you who have put us in the situation we are in.

Not following the rules because you think you are 'special' and don't have to.

Maybe take a trip to a COVID ward and see where that attitude has got people.

I despair for humanity because of idiots like you and others on this thread who think its 'okay' to put others at risk for their own selfish reasons.

Oh brilliant a reverse. Hmm

Let's hope all the posters on this thread live up your street.

No

NiceTwin · 04/04/2021 09:24

Have a lovely day @Baileysforchristmas.

I can't wait until May when I can travel to see my parents and sisters.

Apparently Matt Hancock is off to visit people in Suffolk for the day.. He said on this morning you can travel anywhere in England to visit people for the day. So not sure why anyone would.

I wouldn't have at any point

CommunistLegoBloc · 04/04/2021 09:25

No, but I would think think you're a massive dick

Desmondo2021 · 04/04/2021 09:27

But surely that's 6 people so a lunch (presuming its in the garden) is now allowed?

Sparklingbrook · 04/04/2021 09:27

@CommunistLegoBloc

No, but I would think think you're a massive dick
That's true actually. Even if not ringing the police then you would still do some internal moral judgement of which of your neighbours don't care too much.

But that's if you even notice.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 04/04/2021 09:28

If under six so within the rules then no. Over six and breaking the rules would be different.

hellywelly3 · 04/04/2021 09:28

No but I would probably think to myself what selfish prat’s

BigSandyBalls2015 · 04/04/2021 09:30

Nope, couldn't care less what my neighbours do, and I've felt the same all through this pandemic. Each to their own, assess your own level of risk and crack on.

GrumpySausage · 04/04/2021 09:30

You can have 6 people from individual households, or 2 households if over 6 people.

So I could have 5 friends round totalling 6 of us.

Or my dsil family which is 2 households but with combined kids is 8 of us.

I'm pretty sure the not mixing indoors bit is law rather than guidance. That said, I still wouldn't be reporting it.
BigSandyBalls2015 · 04/04/2021 09:31

in the garden though, not indoors Grumpsausage, strictly speaking
