Text for the vaccine

I had a text at 1am inviting me for that vaccine, I’m guessing that it is a scam? Would they really text at 1am? Has anyone else had this it says it’s from my gps surgery and does include their phone number 🤔

I had a text from my GP. It could be that they're sending out texts in batches and setting up for them to be delivered at different times.

1am is a bit much though!

QueenStromba · 02/04/2021 16:17

My genuine invitation text looked really dodgy. You may as well follow the instructions and see what happens.

Tartyflette · 02/04/2021 16:20

If it is a scam then payment will be mentioned at some point.

Givemeabreak88 · 02/04/2021 19:21

It was a link to click but I didn’t want to click it if it was dodgy because it was at 1 am it sounded dodgy!

It could be that's it's an automatic system that is set to send the text at the beginning of each day.

Can you hover over the link and see what site is says?
Or on a phone I think you can just hold it down without releasing to see where it would take you.

LtJudyHopps · 02/04/2021 20:11

Sometimes when texts or emails are batched to be sent out they come through at different times. I’d personally just click on the link and check it out.

Abraxan · 02/04/2021 20:12

Who did the text from?
Does it not have a name and number attached to the text?

Fullofpudding · 02/04/2021 20:12

My friend had her text in the middle of the night and it was genuine.

DropDTuning · 02/04/2021 20:20

If it has your actual gp surgery name and phone number, I would think there's a good chance that it's legit.

GoWalkabout · 02/04/2021 20:26

Go to the official site and if it let's you book its genuine (ignore the information about booking categories, this is often not up to date and if your GP has added you it will let you book
www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

NewYearNewTwatName · 02/04/2021 20:26

my text had my full name at top and the GP surgery name at the bottom.

the link said something like accythirdpartynhs or something.

all genuine anyway, booked and turned up the next day.

Rainbowsandstorms · 03/04/2021 23:46

@NewYearNewTwatName did the link in the text take you to the National NHS booking system?

NewYearNewTwatName · 04/04/2021 16:09

I can't remember, I think it did but there was a click link for GP invites(or something similar) on the site it took me to.

Tealightsandd · 04/04/2021 18:48

My GP text came at 11pm. I thought it was a hoax too but it was genuine. I couldn't book on the national site yet but was able to via the GP link, which was accurx.thirdparty.nhs.... it took me to the swift queue booking system, which is separate from the national one.
