It’s good he’s got a slot but I just cannot shake the feeling that something will go wrong - I feel really scared

OP posts:
Firkinhavinalaugh · 28/03/2021 21:54

Why do you feel scared?

thesandwich · 28/03/2021 21:54

30 million people have had it..... why are you worried?

vodkaredbullgirl · 28/03/2021 21:55

He will be fine.

Polkadotties · 28/03/2021 21:55

Scared of what?

QuietBatPeople1 · 28/03/2021 21:57

Adverse reaction
Blood clots
Severe side effects to name a few that I’m scared of

OP posts:
TheFairyCaravan · 28/03/2021 21:58

What are you scared of?

Me, DH, DS2, DDIL, PILs and my parents have had it. The only side effect any of us had was me having a migraine, which I get anyway so might not have even been the vaccine.

vodkaredbullgirl · 28/03/2021 21:59

Blood clots are rare, there is always some side effects to any medication.

None of which have actually happened to anyone, so why would it start with your husband? At worst he'll feel a bit crap for a time - Covid is far worse.
Firkinhavinalaugh · 28/03/2021 21:59

And if it helps I’ve seen 1500 (volunteering) vaccinations occur, and a second ones. The centre has seen thousands of patients since December, we’ve not had an adverse reaction or any detrimental effects apart from the expected side effects of sore arm/headache.
I hope that makes you feel a bit better.

LEMtheoriginal · 28/03/2021 22:00

I had mine this morning. I was worried as i had a bad allergic reaction to something unidentified about 15 years ago. I explained to themand they said it was fine. I asked what to do if i felt odd and they said wait in my car for ten minutes and to sound horn if i felt unwell, a medic would attend.

Didn't need them Grin

Feeling ok so far, but yes i understand your worries. I have anxiety and i have been fretting all week.

Im feeling ok so far

RebeccaCloud9 · 28/03/2021 22:00

Do you get scared any time either of takes paracetamol, drives a car, has a drink?

Justmuddlingalong · 28/03/2021 22:00

I was worried about DP when he had his. But excited when I had mine. Its probably just a normal, worrying more about others than yourself thing. He'll be fine.

JorisBonson · 28/03/2021 22:01

You can get blood clots from taking paracetamol.

25 million people have had it.

He will be fine.

Moondust001 · 28/03/2021 22:01

There is no known relationship between blood clots and any of the vaccines. You are correct that blood clots are rare, but the reports of the vaccine causing them have not been found to be the case.
QuietBatPeople1 · 28/03/2021 22:02

I struggle with anxiety and today having a triple whammy of period, migraine and the anxiety about tomorrow-possibly it’s the hormones and the anxiety driving me but I do feel scared

OP posts:
EvilOnion · 28/03/2021 22:02

Anxiety is shit - it's not logical.
You know that he will most likely be fine.

I was a nervous wreck before I had mine in January because I had all sorts of awful scenarios in my mind, I was paranoid afterwards and was fully expecting to grow a new head but other than a sore arm I've been absolutely fine just like 99.9% of the others who've had it.

Try not to overthink things.

midgeswithnofingernails · 28/03/2021 22:04

It's ok to feel scared
No need to be though ! Not a time when you need to act on the feeling

greengrey · 28/03/2021 22:04

The worst he's going to get, depending which vaccine he gets, is a sore arm and a headache (Pfizer) or a day or two of feeling a bit poop (AZ).

Most people I know who have had AZ had no effects at all.

Better this than Covid.

TheFormidableMrsC · 28/03/2021 22:06

OP, I had zero side effects, not even a sore arm. I'm a cancer patient currently. I was fine and I'm pretty sure he will be too.

NichyNoo · 28/03/2021 22:07

Does he cross the road and are you worried about him getting run over when he does?

Longdistance · 28/03/2021 22:08

My dm who is 80 who has so many health problems including having a dodgy heart (one valve only works 30%) and lung cancer, just had a sore arm with it. My super fit work colleague was out of it for days, sleeping, headache and aching joints.
I had mine yesterday. My arm hurt and I wasn’t feeling too good this afternoon, but I feel fine now.

QuietBatPeople1 · 28/03/2021 22:10

Thank you @TheFormidableMrsC- fingers crossed for you to beat the disease

OP posts:
AnnaMagnani · 28/03/2021 22:13

Even if he gets side effects - a sore arm, feeling a bit crap - those are good side effects as they are him growing the antibodies.

30 million people have had it in the UK alone, not even counting world wide.

Your DH just isn't that special. None of us are.

QuietBatPeople1 · 28/03/2021 22:13

I’ll just focus on getting rid of my migraine and not focus on the ‘what ifs’ - easier said than done with anxiety

OP posts:
QuietBatPeople1 · 28/03/2021 22:14

@AnnaMagnani not saying he is special but worried that he might be the ‘unlucky’ one- quite the opposite
