PCR drive through turn around

Took DS for a test at 12 noon on Saturday as he has a cough and was running a slight temp, also has snotty nose and sore throat so it could be a cold. No result through yet. Have let school know he's unlikely to be in tomorrow morning as we're waiting on the result. Hoping for a negative as I'm 8 months pregnant but also as it's my last 3 days at work this week before mat leave.

Any ideas on when we'll get a result? And is it true we need to wait 5 days before calling 119 to chase?

We were told 48 hours but we had a test at 11, and got the results maybe 2/3 am so about 14 hours.

Results are generally fast. If you don't have your results this morning then I'd be calling up with your test card info in case the details went missing.

Thanks both. We're up to 44 hours now, so not quite as quick. Will give them a call.

Thanks for the advice. Called up and they identified straight away that the scan at the drive in centre hadn't worked so the test hadn't been linked to the registration and the result was bouncing around in the system owner less. 30 mins on the phone and the result came straight through.
