I've been looking at the gov website and have found this 'Self-contained accommodation such as campsites and holiday lets'
Does this include hotels?
And i do know this is subject to change. Was just going to book a hotel where I can get a full refund.

I took it as holiday apartments such as air b and bs at that time & not hotels.

RoseWineTime · 19/03/2021 08:21

I thought hotels were 17th May?

MrsCaptainJakeBallard · 19/03/2021 08:22

The guidance I've just found stated 17th May for: Indoor venues such as the inside of pubs and restaurants, hotels and B&Bs, play centres, cinemas, museums and group exercise classes will reopen. The new indoor and outdoor mixing limits will remain for pubs and other hospitality venues.

Hotels are 17th may

Ahh buggar that's annoying. I wonder why. It would be an en suite so no contact with others. Thanks

Shared dining rooms and other communal areas is why. Even if you don’t plan on using them. Plus housekeeping coming in every day, whereas in self-catering they only clean after you leave.

Lubiluxe · 19/03/2021 08:27

Yeah I guess so. Just wish they could do it and not open the restaurants in there. When I stayed in a hotel last summer none of those were open anyway!

There would be contact with others. You would be sharing the corridor space to get to your rooms , you would be sharing an entrace to the building, the stairwell, the lifts, the bar, the dining area etc. In those places you'd all be sharing air.

Katie517 · 19/03/2021 09:10

It makes no sense but then a lot of the roadmap doesn’t! If it’s fine for you to “share air” in non essential retail and gyms from April 12th then walking past someone in a hotel corridor should also be fine....

GretaGip · 19/03/2021 09:39

I believe hotels can open IF they have rooms that are accessed individually from outside.

One I've spotted will not open any communal areas but will let you have a room and provide room service.

Mojitomumma · 19/03/2021 09:41

So would Airbnb's be open in April?

Realitea · 19/03/2021 09:55

Yes Air bnb’s are open from 12th April

Lubiluxe · 19/03/2021 12:18

Thanks all. I found the 'sharing air' thing a bit odd too..I think it is riskier in a gym than a hotel where I can walk through the corridor when noone is there. But never mind!
