Test results - lost?

We are now into day 3 of waiting. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait recently? We are in London.

A few weeks ago had to wait for almost 5 days for a result.

OliverBabish · 19/03/2021 08:33

I am also waiting - this is day 3 for me. Never had to wait this long before.

It's crap isn't it? I'm calculating the cost of missing work (DP self-employed) and nursery costs and we are well into £500 loss already. It gives me some hope that I'm not alone and maybe the test isn't lost, just slow.

have you rang 119?

I waited 10 days once. Luckily it was for the zoe app so I wasn't in self isolation. I did have to ring 119 another time they sent an email to chase it on day 3 and I got the results not long after. Might have been coincidence.

Was it a postal test? Someone I work with didn't get their results and when they rang 119 it was because they hadn't registered the test. Once they did that they got them straight away.

OliverBabish · 19/03/2021 08:37

There must be some sort of delay. I was hoping someone else would post saying they were waiting too! I’m 8 months pregnant so a bit nervous for the result. Fingers crossed we both hear today

No, ours was a drive through.

I will give them a call this afternoon. My poor DD is only 2 and has had to have tests every month due to having a cold / cough and she now gets really upset when she sees the swab. I really don't want to have to do another test.

Fingers crossed. Are you in London too?

No I’m up North!

mars2 · 19/03/2021 08:46

Mine was lost, never turned up so did it again.

mars2 · 19/03/2021 08:46

London but it was a postal one.

OliverBabish · 19/03/2021 18:53

Still nothing! I’ve called 119 but they’ve said they can’t chase it yet

HaNNaHC92 · 19/03/2021 19:02

I'm in South Wales and thankfully there seems to be a quick turnaround. I had a test done Tuesday morning at 10am, I got my results that evening via email about 10.30pm.

You're living my life! I called them earlier too. Telnet did say the test is registered which is something I suppose.

DH took a test a few weeks back and never got the results. Chased multiple occasions and they said there was no record of his test, despite having the card with the details on. Had to repeat it.

ExpulsoCorona · 19/03/2021 20:01

In early Feb we did drive through tests, my son and I got our results on day 3 but my daughter's result didn't come until day 6 (London).

kirinm · 20/03/2021 08:17

Still nothing. I think we are 56 hours now? What a joke.

Same. Half tempted to go for another 😂

Have you heard anything?

No! So sick of checking my phone and emails 😩

mars2 · 20/03/2021 17:57

The thing is if you test again after 7 days from symptom even if you have it you will likely test negative anyway.

You say that but last summer I got sick so went for a covid test on a Monday. It was negative. I was tested for covid again on the Sunday as I was admitted into hospital. And I was tested twice more whilst an in-patient for a week so the 7 day period had more than gone by then.

Presumably the hospital assumed the test could be relied on to some extent?

OP posts:
mars2 · 20/03/2021 18:09

That's what hospital drs told me when I was admitted 2 wks after my 1st symptom. I was tested twice whilst in hospital because it's part of the process but was told the infection had likely moved out of my nose/mouth.

I also had an antibodies test but was told that no antibodies doesn't mean I didn't have it.

kirinm · 20/03/2021 20:47

We finally got our test back (negative). Just under 72 hours.

OP posts:
OliverBabish · 20/03/2021 22:05

Me too! Just checked! Negative. Must have a nasty cold
