Staying with friend: worried now

England, we've both had first jab.

He is having cancer treatment near me then I'm picking him up and we're going back to his for a few days, he lives alone and is my bubble. I checked with police if this was ok and they said fine.

After the story about a pensioner receiving a visit from police for cup of tea in communal garden doubts are really creeping in, I'm now worried about doing this (in a few weeks time)?

So if the police visit, you just explain that he is receiving cancer treatment, lives alone and you are both his bubble and temporary carer. Simple.

The situation is different, so the police should respond differently.

Temporary carer: thanks. I'll have to train him not to laugh like a hyena! Well I do want to show health support but we both want to relax and be 'normal' for a while

It is bloody insane that heavy-handed and wrong police action has meant that you are worried about doing something that is within the rules.

Honestly I despair at the police (some of them) right now.
