If we would have heard that 125,000 people would have died in the U.K. of C19, in March 2020, where would our minds be?

Not sure if my title makes sense as I can’t see it all on my phone. But I was just wondering how hearing the U.K. has lost 125,000 people since the pandemic started and it hardly stirs any emotion in me. The early days in 2020, even the news of 200 people had died used to flood me. I just feel sad that these figures don’t have the same impact on me.

I don’t watch TV much and today I am watching Sky and just heard the current figure.

Does anyone else feel the same? I hate that I am so desensitised.

Well if you think correcting someone for the use of all is more fascinating go for it.

But it’s obvious to most that no all won’t be and so what? It’s short hand.

People that pick up on stuff like that..

Says you who made an arsey comment about the use of bold to emphasise a word in absence of speech or tone 🤣

If you want to continue making comments whereby you say what you don't mean and don't mean what you say, carry on, but if you want it to form a part of an actual conversation, I'd suggest you maybe try talking to yourself.

I recall listening to radio 4 on the commute home just before lockdown and the expert said if we got away with 60 k dead we would be doing well. My blood ran cold and when I tol DH he scoffed as scare mongering.

People that pick up on stuff like that..

In fact, what actually is your issue with 'people like that'? (Shorthand).

What is your issue with people that take what is said literally, and respond based on that, not on what they couldn't interpret someone actually meant to say?
