Getting the vaccine in a different location

Does anyone know if it is possible to book the vaccine in a different city to your GP?

Pre-lockdown I was working in 2 different locations on opposite sides of the country. I am currently living in one location but my GP is in the other location. Changing GP would not be ideal for many reasons, especially as the list is full at the local GP here.

I know you can select the location when you book online but presumably the list of locations is local to your GP. Does anyone know if I will be able to book a location so far away from my GP?

When you book it asks for your name, date of birth and postcode. Then it asks for postcode for nearest vaccination venue, so put the postcode here and see what comes up. You will probably have to book both doses at the same time.

I know someone who is registered with a GP in London but is spending most of her time in another city at present in order to care for a family member. She has been able to book on the national system to have her vaccination in the city where she currently is.

When I booked, it came up with a list which was purely distance as the crow flies from my postcode, nothing to do with my GP. I didn't want to go to the nearest town (town centre, difficult parking). The next nearest didn't have availability for a week so I booked in the next city up. But the list went to one 30 miles away ... actually 60 by road!

So I don't see why you shouldn't be able to just book using your current postcode.

Thanks everyone! That's really helpful.

Yes you can definitely do this. I'm a carer to my dad in a different city to me and booked my vaccination near his home as I was going to be with him that day.
