Invited for vaccine, not sure why?

Hi,

I've had a text inviting me for my vaccine due to an underlying health condition. As far as I know, I don't have any UHC. Shall I phone my GP and ask, although I'd like to think I know my own health history, or do I just book the jab? I'm 30.

I've just had similar! I started a thread on here.

I have gone ahead and booked it. I think they must have extra doses available where I am, as I was fully expecting an appointment for maybe July, but ended up with one for tomorrow.

I phoned GP but they said they couldn't discuss vaccinations and to do what the text says, so I did.

They did say they were 'ramping it up' this week, so maybe this means they have more available.

I'm 37 and am technically obese, but how they know this, I do not know!

Our GP phone line message specifically says - don't call us to question your vaccine invitation and that they are quickly going through their patient list

No just book it. It’s a mass vaccination programme of tens of millions - some people will get called early - querying slows the system down

I had one this morning too!! I went ahead and booked it anyway but for ten days time so I can think about it properly, because I’m pregnant I want to decide based on more reading and asking professionals etc.

I think I’m on a list somewhere because I had a pulmonary embolism aged 29, so six years ago. But I think you go on the list for life 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just book it.

I've had similar today too and our surgery is still on group 6. I'm guessing it's because I had gestational diabetes - I'm not aware of anything else even vaguely related to the group 6 criteria.

Acesulfame · 15/03/2021 17:36

I’ve had the same, I’m 43. Booked in for next Saturday. Said underlying condition but I don’t have one.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 15/03/2021 17:39

I got the same and really panicked. I am actually obese but wasn’t the last time I got weighed. No other health conditions.

Getbusylivingorgetbusydying · 15/03/2021 18:09

My weight is fine, no issues there. I did have postpartum thyroiditis but that was 6 years ago and resolved itself within a year.

I have booked it anyway, just wondered whether it was sent in error or it was something I needed to look into, but it seems like it's quite common so I wont worry.

It’s likely the thyroid issue. My SIL got invited early due to a thyroid issue. I think the nhs aren’t very good at taking you off a list once you’ve recovered from something....hence all the women who’d had gestational diabetes years ago getting early invites.
