Hi, as the title says, just received this and can't get through to my GP to ask them. Just wondered if this is a scam text message or not? I'm suspicious because I'm in my 30s and as far as I know have no underlying health conditions

Looks like the ones I've seen.
Don't click it just go direct to .gov and follow that if you're unsure.

Bufferingkisses · 15/03/2021 10:16

If they ask for money it's a scam, just Google "book covid vaccination uk" and go through the gov link that way. If you are eligible it will let you book.

storminabuttercup · 15/03/2021 10:16

Go to the nhs site directly and try to book, if it lets you you're eligible. It could be something you'd not even thought of, it was with me

gamerchick · 15/03/2021 10:17

Mine just said NHS booking but I got a letter inviting me to book, not a text.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 15/03/2021 10:21

The web address is the legitimate one as is the is NHSVaccine name on the text. That being said, if you're unsure you can either wait to receive the letter or manually enter the nhs vaccine page in to your browser & input your details & it will tell you if you're eligible Smile

Panpig · 15/03/2021 10:33

Thanks all, I did go on the .Gov site and turns out I was eligible for some reason! All booked both doses so very happy about that

Congratulations Smile I've had my first, a spare. Felt like the dogs bollocks walking out Grin

Frazzled2207 · 15/03/2021 11:08

good stuff! I have heard of several people being suddenly eligible as they were in group 6 and didn't know why. They still don't know why in most cases but no complaints. Yes I want mine too but broadly speaking the more people get jabbed the better.

Whatever9999 · 15/03/2021 11:13

Looks similar to mine, except mine said to get someone in my support bubble to help me book, not sure why they thought I needed help, I'm autistic but am quite capable of booking my own vaccine.

Cornettoninja · 15/03/2021 16:25

I believe that some mental health condition codings have been included in the recent releases which is catching some people off guard.

As with happened with gestational diabetes invites if you have a particular code for one of the identified at risk groups on your medical records from any point in time the system will have picked your record out as eligible.

NotQuiteUsual · 15/03/2021 16:50

I got mine today and booked it. I think my OCD and recent break down are what made me eligible. Just glad something good came from ny crappy MH

kimlo · 15/03/2021 18:47

thats exactly the same text I got.

OhDearWhyAmIFatterly · 15/03/2021 20:27

I got it too! I have no idea what my underlying condition is? And I only turned 40 last month....

Panpig · 15/03/2021 20:30

I emailed my GP and she called me back. Bizarrely it turns out that because I once had thrombophlebitis, I qualify for group 6! She said she can't understand why, but the algorithm of the nhs coding system includes that. I was worried I had an illness I didn't know about!

RoseWineTime · 15/03/2021 20:37

I also qualify as group 6 due to a post operative pulmonary embolism.

LunaNorth · 15/03/2021 20:40

Yep, I qualified due to a DVT I had twenty three years ago.

Glad it came in useful in the end Grin

Sleeprocks · 15/03/2021 21:44

Thanks. Got the same text. Baffled as to why but maybe cholestasis during pregnancy - liver issue? I can't get the vaccine in the UK as I'm working for the Government abroad and have been told not to travel til later in the year (not sure when). So have to wait

Acesulfame · 15/03/2021 21:55

It’s the same as the (genuine) one I received. I didn’t click on the link in the message, just went to the website on my laptop.

StarCat2020 · 19/03/2021 12:38

NHSVaccine name on the text
Whilst the OPs text is genuine, a fake text could state NHSVaccine as well.

It is so easy to make a text appear to come from a "trusted place".

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 19/03/2021 13:09

Glad it is all sorted out. I agree with your caution to check it was not a scam.
