Palpitations or ectopics after covid vaccination

Palpitations or ectopics after covid vaccination. Has anyone experienced these? If so, which vaccine, when did they start and have they settled yet?

Do report here (if you haven’t already) I hope they settle soon

I have atrial tachycardia and various things set them off I also get palpitations when I get infections so wouldn't have been surprised. No problem after vaccination. AZ.
TBH the risk of covid is far greater than the unpleasantness of palpitations.

Uvmel · 29/04/2021 23:22

Yes. I had palpitations a few weeks after the1st pfizer jab. I'm still having them investigated. It got pretty intense for a few days but much better now although they are still happening each day. .

Totalbeach · 29/04/2021 23:29

I'm very prone to ectopics but didn't have any after the jab, despite being quite poorly with side effects which is usually a big trigger for my ectopics. Astrazeneca vaccine (and I'm not happy about having had it so have no reason to be promoting this!)

Gothichouse40 · 30/04/2021 01:39

I had palpitations after AZ vaccination, still having them a month later but not quite as often. I hadn't had palpitations since menopause years ago, not pleasant. They have been investigated and all was ok. However, compared to Covid I guess it's been less important to me.Sorry, not sure what you mean by ectopics apart from ectopic pregnancy.

Gothichouse40 · 30/04/2021 01:40

I have yellow carded all my side-effects.

amylou8 · 30/04/2021 01:50

Gothic ectopics are missed or extra beats.

I'm prone to them, especially when ill or stressed. Nothing yet after the AZ but still early days.

MRex · 30/04/2021 06:34

MIL had them after each dose (Pfizer) along with dizziness and headache, seemed to have cleared up after a couple of weeks but she's only just doing 24hr monitoring today so not officially clear.
Might not be related to the jabs as she has heart conditions anyway, but the timing suggests it is.

ItsSnowJokes · 30/04/2021 06:43

I have had pvc's (pre ventricular) since starting peri menopause and they have got worse since the vaccine (Novavax). Hoping they won't last long.

They started after a bout of flu in November 2019 and I was sent for investigation and a 24 hour monitor for a week and heart scans which all came back clear so they put it down to perimenopause and the flu.

RebeccaCloud9 · 30/04/2021 06:48

No, but I had them with covid itself.

YonWeeLassie · 30/04/2021 13:20

I get palpitations (atrial tachycardia) controlled by drugs, also prone to ectopics (pvcs).
My biggest trigger is infection so you might expect a vaccine to trigger them since it puts the body into infection fighting mode. I've had both doses of AZ and no issues.

SatsumaZoom · 08/09/2021 07:55

I wondered how you are now OP? I'm still getting mine 5 months on. Apparently they are harmless but they feel awful. I think I've just been pushed into perimenopause so I'm trying going back on the pill to see if it helps 😟

ConcernedAuntie · 09/09/2021 10:51

I experienced ectopics about 6 weeks after my first AstraZeneca. However, I have had them previously and also episodes of atrial fibrillation over the last 14 years so I have no idea if it was caused by the vaccine. They were quite uncomfortable and lasted longer than they have before so they did a 24 monitoring. Results came back as not outside normal parameters, whatever that means, and after another couple of weeks everything gradually went back to normal. No issues after second jab.

Friend who had Covid in October 2020 still experiencing irregular heartbeats and they are now thinking of fitting her with a pacemaker.

YonWeeLassie · 09/09/2021 11:24

I saw this thread was resuurrected and I can add to my previous post because I have since had covid. Covid caused me more palpitations and ectopics than I've ever had before ( I do get them normally).

Ginandfantalemon · 09/09/2021 12:51

Count me in on this one too. Palpitations on fourth or fifth day after first Pfizer in April and am still getting them daily. It's ruining my life, they wake me up in the middle of the night. Had a couple of ECG's which were fine, and I'm waiting on results from a 24hr monitor I had fitted. I'm bloody petrified that we need to get a booster and wont be taking anymore jabs until they can find out the cause of the palps.

SatsumaZoom · 09/09/2021 13:00

Oh dear I'm sorry to read I'm not the only one still suffering. I have been told mine are harmless but it's making me miserable.

I guess it stands to reason that if covid causes it the jab can do too. I'm on some 'palpitations' type group on FB and I know there are similar sufferers there. I'm pro vaccine but the unknowns of this I find so scary 😟

Ginandfantalemon · 09/09/2021 13:15

@SatsumaZoom
Yes, it's definately scary. My Doctor admitted he couldn't tell me if they have been caused by the vaccine or not, and yet, here they are going to offer it to little kids.

SatsumaZoom · 09/09/2021 13:31

Yes I'd worry my daughter's may have the same reaction, if it might be hereditary. I can cope with my hormones and heart being messed with but not theirs 😟 not if this might be long term.

Walk20 · 09/09/2021 16:52

Hi. To update I had 1st pfizer in February. Palpitations started about 6 days later and lasted continuously all day for about a week. Very occasional ones since but nothing like after vaccine. Interestingly I had no palpitations after my second pfizer vaccine.

Walk20 · 09/09/2021 17:01

I guess if I had had a pfizer vaccine recently with the same palpitations I would have sought medical advice to exclude myocarditis but there wasn't really the focus on myocarditis back in Feb/March.

Walk20 · 09/09/2021 17:07

Sorry to hear some of you are still suffering. Hope they settle soon.

I also should have said mine didn't get any worse or change after my second vaccine either. 🤞🏼 It improves for everyone
