This is a frightening read. It sounds as if there is more dangerous variants popping up, it doesn’t look like the Chinese vaccine is working on this variant in Brazil. I hope ours works, this is where we need to send our vaccines next.

Where does it say the vaccine isn't working against the variant?
I read it that the person was fearful even though she'd been vaccinated but nothing said that it wasn't effective (yet)

The article only mentions one person being vaccinated, with the Chinese vaccine, a doctor who doesn't seem to have caught Covid at the time of writing. Out of 212 million people, only 11million doses have been given, so most of the population are unvaccinated.

No reason to conclude "it doesn’t look like the Chinese vaccine is working on this variant in Brazil."

There’s a lot of speculation in that article and little hard data.

It doesn't say anything about the vaccine not working. Not enough people have been vaccinated in Brazil and their case numbers are still way too high to see any improvements yet.

Pfizer & AZ provide protection against that strain, it was in the news.
