Hi, can anyone help me, without going into masses of detail, can anything happen or can it be reported anywhere if someone is deliberately self isolating, they claim to have been notified by track and trace that they were in close contact, however, cant provide an email, or the code that you apparently get to show this is the case. Only the screen showing you need to isolate. They are now staying at home and taking advantaged of free services and work full pay. I have a feeling all this did was enter symptoms and then its told them to self isolate, they are symptom free. Thanks

Why on earth would you want to do something like that?

Honestly, what are you going to do when lockdown ends?

CrunchyCarrot · 13/03/2021 07:23

I don't think the OP is talking about themselves!

charliebu1986 · 13/03/2021 07:25

Im not talking about me, i wouldnt do that, Im talking about a relative, and it in turn is effecting my children.

No I don’t think there is anywhere you can report it. I’m sure it does happen, but hopefully most people are honest and wouldn’t lie. It’s a shame that people lie to do this though and employers have to take their word that they have been told to self isolate.

When I had covid I had to forward my line manager my track and trace message. If I hadn't had one he would have told me to get a test if I had symptoms and self isolate till I got the result

Chewbecca · 13/03/2021 14:20

You get a notification on the app as close contact of a positive case, nothing else. It then counts down. DS has it currently from back to school.

What else you are looking for and why? If he has a close contact message, he must SI.

lughnasadh · 13/03/2021 15:51

I read it as though the OP wanted to do the reporting?

Which is obviously a pathetic and bitter thing to do.

dementedpixie · 13/03/2021 15:54

The app tells you to isolate and gives a countdown. There isn't an email
The App is separate from Test and Trace

FreshFancyFrogglette · 13/03/2021 15:54

Leave them to it? Whats the point in reporting? Would far rather someone isolate who doesn't need to, than someone not isolate who does need to.better safe than sorry!!

dementedpixie · 13/03/2021 15:55

And you don't necessarily get full pay while isolating. In some cases you only get statutory sick pay
