Test result inconclusive

Why would this happen please anyone had this and found out the reason.

We got this with DS when he had a very snotty nose that he didn't blow very well. The result the next day was negative, and he'd always been unlikely to have it, so snot seems most likely.

Generally means the sample was contaminated in some way.

Not enough fluid to sample, or test not carried out correctly.
