Travel to Cyprus - Vaccines

So you can now travel to Cyprus as of the 1st May (well the 7th, due to UK restrictions), without having a negative test, so long as you have had both jabs.

Maybe I’m being really stupid, but this doesn’t make sense to me? I thought the vaccine greatly reduces your risk of developing severe symptoms and need to be hospitalised but doesn’t actually stop you passing it on?

What have I missed? This isn’t a rhetorical question, I genuinely don’t get it?

They do reduce transmission, much like the vast majority of other vaccines.

We have new data from Cambridge Uni researchers to show that the Pfizer vaccine reduces asymptomatic infection by 75%. A single dose of the AZ vaccine cuts transmission by 67%.
