Is this possible ?

Forgive me if this sounds stupid, I'm genuinely not sure. My DS turns 1 at the beginning of May. Will I be able to have a (very) small party for him or not? That's if everything goes smoothly with cases etc. Thanks in advance

Who knows? It depends where you live and what the rules are at the time. The dates on BoJo's roadmap are "not before" dates so could still get pushed back. Elsewhere in the uk I don't think dates have even been mentioned, they definitely haven't in Scotland. At best I think you'll probably be looking at a small garden party.

Thank you for your reply that helps. Its just I don't have a lot of money so would have to start buying things now. A small garden party is all I would have anyway but it would have to be at a family members house if its possible.

From May 17th we should be able to mix indoors I believe?

SnowyBranches · 08/03/2021 08:56

From 29 March you can have 6 people or 2 households outside including in a garden. From 17 May you can have up to 30 outdoors and 6 people or 2 households indoors. This may change of course

Thank you. Its right at the beginning of May, so 20 people in a garden (including children) would be out of the question right?

Yes @yahyahs22 - beginning of May is 6 people in a garden. But things like zoos etc will be open so you could have a small party in the garden & then maybe meet different friends/family at the zoo or a farm on another day?

Or, plan a nice day out on their actual birthday & have the party in late May? Your little one won’t know & that way you still get a bigger party! It will still have to be an outdoor party tho, in May, it’s only one other household allowed indoors. But up to 30 outdoors!

My DD turns one in a couple weeks so sadly it’s a party of just us 4 😫 but DD1 turns 4 in late May so we’ll just be having a big double celebration in the garden!

Thats a really good idea, thank you!
I hope your DD has a lovely time regardless. I feel so bad for these lockdown babies 😢
