Group 6 - can they book themselves?

My brother is group 6 (severe BI-polar) and also over 40 BMI. Can he book himself in online now? He hasn’t heard anything and is not the type to chase it up but I wondered if anyone knows if he is eligible to book now and I can explain to him!

Yes, my DH did the other day. He hadn't heard anything from anyone and like your brother isn't the type to chase it up.

The online booking system has changed to allow group 6 now though, and it was an easy process. However, I've seen some posts on here saying that they weren't able to book, but fingers crossed it will work for him!

Yes it’s been changed but if booking online doesn’t work for him he can ring 119 and book that way. Same for over 56s now too.

Thank you I’ll tell him. I would imagine he may know but be waiting to be contacted as he’s like that but hopefully he will book.

I still can't book online, but given my GP regularly fails to put information in my notes, I doubt their email telling me I'm in Group 6 (after I queried it with evidence they should have already had in my notes) has led to any action on their part.
I'll need to wait another 3 weeks before I can chase it with them, by which time they'll be almost at my age group anyway.

Definitely try online, you only need name, date of birth and postcode. It asks a couple of questions and either lets you go on to find venue or says you are not eligible yet. You have nothing to loose trying.

I had been trying every day for a few weeks with no success but last Wednesday at about 10pm it suddenly worked. It was a bit of a faff trying to get the two appointments and I have to travel 30 miles on public transport for my second dose but it did work!
