Incorrectly told to isolate - what do I do?

I have recently had COVID. My last day of isolation was yesterday but I haven’t been anywhere today. I received a text today to say I’ve had contact with someone who has tested positive and I need to isolate for 10 days! There is no chance I have had contact with anyone?? What can I do?

Ring 119 to dispute it. Does it say when you need to isolate until? And is it legit, did it address you by your correct name?

PandemicPalava · 05/03/2021 19:04

Call 119, they're really helpful. Sounds like an error or maybe someone who you had contact with ages ago and they've got in a muddle on the system

LizzieMacQueen · 05/03/2021 19:07

Our world bearing test & trace probably has you on a permanent isolation loop. You are your own contact and you cannot escape. (Joking but it's possibly not far from the truth).

Do you live alone?

LizzieMacQueen · 05/03/2021 19:08

*world beating

That should be.

ChristmasCovid · 05/03/2021 19:17

Has anyone else in the house tested positive and named you as a contact? If they have and tested positive during your isolation you don’t need to re isolate.
Call 119

ChameleonClara · 05/03/2021 19:20

Hope you get it sorted out, would've interested to hear if you manage to get this sorted - good luck!

Whatalottachocca · 05/03/2021 19:22

Surely you just ignore it? Who would know?

Bunnybigears · 05/03/2021 19:24

Its how near your phone has been to the phone of someone who has tested positive. Has anyone borrowed your phone? Are you in a terraced house or flats?

FlyingFlamingo · 05/03/2021 19:27

I had this when I had Covid because dd2 and dh tested positive after me, I just ignored it. I don’t have the app though, the text from TTP who had already told me I didn’t need to isolate past my 10 days

FlyingBurrito · 05/03/2021 19:31

I don't know what the technically correct answer is but I'd ignore it in your specific circumstances.

starfish4 · 05/03/2021 19:40

Guess there could be a chance someone who was waiting for a result has been out today and then been notified of a positive test, then put the result into the system. .
If you've been out today, where you near others?

MadeForThis · 05/03/2021 19:50

If it's the app you don't have to isolate. Only if test and trace phone you.

annie987 · 05/03/2021 20:19

It’s not the app. I don’t have that. It’s a text from track and trace. Will ring 119 tomorrow - Can’t seem to get through tonight.
We all had it in the household but all within a day of each other. Very odd.

I had this with the App. Unfathomable

ChristmasCovid · 05/03/2021 20:42

If it’s a text from T&T somebody’s who’s positive has named you as a contact. Does it have your name spelt correctly etc?

LunaHeather · 05/03/2021 20:46

With the app, it's not unfathomable at all, the app is complete nonsense.

But OP maybe someone at T&T got in a muddle. Ring them, hope you get it sorted asap.

Frazzled2207 · 05/03/2021 20:54

Try and get hold of them and hopefully you'll get through to someone helpful. I would broadly ignore it though. Hope you're feeling better,

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 05/03/2021 21:18

Have you got the whole text?
My friend was in a similar situation to you and it turned out he only had the last part of the text (old mobile phone, text was too long so it cut the first part off) and what he had got was a last part of a text that ended ‘if you have had contact...’ etc
