Mixed reports from AZ. All elderly parents were fine. Arm ache, nothing else. Lots of people in My age range (early 40’s) had some side effects. Flu symptoms, at worst, hallucinating due to fever. Some felt better after 12 hours - some out of kilter for 2-3 days. However, they were all told that symptoms would be worse if they had already had Covid. And most thought that they had

I had the vaccine this morning. Felt fine until about an hour ago. Arm is very painful,my head feels like it’s on fire but the rest of my body is freezing cold. Bit of a headache too

Impatiens · 05/03/2021 02:08

Me and DP both had AZ the same day, both felt really rough for 3 days. DP had temperature and heat rash, I had muscle pains all over and bad headaches. Neither of us has had CV.

lightlypoached · 05/03/2021 02:17

Had mine today -Pfizer. So far so good but I could wake up tomorrow feeling Crap. If I could get to sleep that is Grin

One of my mates had it (Oxford AZ) and felt rubbish for a week. It's still worth it though, especially for those of us with higher risk factors !

Impatiens · 05/03/2021 02:29

DM has had both doses of pvizer now, no side effects whatsoever. Grr (kidding!)

Monty27 · 05/03/2021 02:36

Cosy up with water and paracetamol. It took me a few days to recover.
Try and eat too. Hope you feel better soon and have someone around 💐

Lovelydaybut · 05/03/2021 06:47

I’ve slept on and off
Nasty headache now and my fever has dropped a bit.
Will take it easy today, phone in sick for work.
I sad that have anything huge to do today...

I need to convince my husband that I’m not malingering. He had the Pfizer a month ago and it didn’t affect him at all.

Lying in bed now feeling rough! Meant to be in work this afternoon, will have to see how this morning goes...

giletrouge · 05/03/2021 06:54

Why would he think that? I had the a-z, was ill in bed for couple of days, headache and fluey symptoms. It's over fairly quick but it's definitely really feeling ill if you get it, and it's pretty random - I'm 65 and not had covid so according to stats I'm not likely to get side effects but I bloody did!
Stay in bed, rest, sleep, ibuprofen, fluids.

LynetteScavo · 05/03/2021 06:54

DH had the AZ last weekend and was still feeling rough last night. He didn't think he'd feel bad for this long! We don't think he's had C-19 already, and if he did it was just over a year ago, so highly unlikely. Confused

Puffthemagicdragongoestobed · 05/03/2021 06:56

Vaccine on a Thursday at midday. Had a rough night and felt fluey with a temperature on Friday. Better by late morning on Saturday.
Thinking back it wasn't too bad. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Katyy · 05/03/2021 07:08

Yep 63 not had COVID, but felt very rough headache, dizzy, nausea that began to ease after 18 hours then the shivers and diarrhoea started. Lovely !

KihoBebiluPute · 05/03/2021 07:18

The symptoms you experienced was the effect of your body's immune system responding to the virus. Whilst they are unpleasant to experience temporally, it's part and parcel of the rollout of a vaccine that is effective and protecting you and wide society. Well done!

There is a lot of variation in reaction to vaccines just like there's a lot of variation in reaction to actual infection - it might be that someone who doesn't experience any symptoms at all after immunisation might be more likely to have been a symptomless spreader if they had been infected with the actual virus? But anyway it is brilliant news that you have now had the jab, and very glad that you are now feeling better.

KihoBebiluPute · 05/03/2021 07:20

Sorry mistype above should read "body's immune system responding to the vaccine" not "body's immune system responding to the virus" Blush

BobsDouble · 05/03/2021 07:25

24 hours after symptoms start, for most people. I’ve known one who felt rough for 4 days.

With Pfizer this typically comes after the second dose.

Purplewithred · 05/03/2021 07:29

I had about half a day feeling rubbish, absolutely fine before and after.

Reported on Zoe app, scored a test.

Tested positive.

Wherediditgo · 05/03/2021 07:31

This is the only thing putting me off getting the jab tbh. All these stories about how ill everyone has been afterwards!
I am mid 30s with no health conditions so not expecting it anytime soon though.

AfternoonToffee · 05/03/2021 07:58

People have been getting it at work, most have felt rough for 24 hrs after, a couple longer. It seems it is quite a normal reaction to this particular one.

VashtaNerada · 05/03/2021 08:08

Oh no @Wherediditgo - it’s definitely still worth getting! This is nothing compared to how bad covid can potentially be.

QueenPaw · 05/03/2021 08:11

@Wherediditgo I felt a bit rough but slept through most of it and it was very very short lived. My weekly injection has very similar side effects but worse and last longer!

StrangeAddiction · 05/03/2021 08:14

I had AZ on Tuesday morning no side effects apart from a sore arm that feels like it's been bruised, it's also warm and red

Ugh had the vaccine this morning and now running a fever, feeling sick and generally ygh
StrangeAddiction · 05/03/2021 08:20

it might be that someone who doesn't experience any symptoms at all after immunisation might be more likely to have been a symptomless spreader if they had been infected with the actual virus?

I've been thinking about this theory, do you know if there's any evidence that might suggest this? Thanks
