Please can someone advise as school letter was not very clear. They are to go in at certain times next week on different days to have a test - but I thought there are 2 more tests; are these sent home and when do parents use them? This is for secondary school

Thanks

Ask your school

Ours is calling pupils in for test only this week, two tests next week and one to bring home after that.

I expect they're' gong to be quite a variety of timings between schools

I know of three different systems at senior schools just round here so you may want to check with the individual school.

We are having a test at a centre between 4-7 and returning on the 8th. There will then be two tests in school and then they will be done at home after that.

It's quite confusing. What about these tests for the whole family to be done at home, is that something else or part of the school testing?

I think ours are sent home with dc after first

The pupils are meant to have 3 tests done at school and should be 3 - 5 days apart. They will then be given tests to do at home twice a week.

Tests are also now to be given to families of school age children if they also want to do tests at home.

I think most schools are staggering start time back at school to enable the first test to be done. Once pupils are back at school, the other 2 tests will probably be organised by taking groups out of lessons.

Pupils get their supply from school.

Families get them by following instructions in thus link:

D2 has to go in to school tomorrow for a test, and will have two tests done next week at school when she will be in school full-time. After that she will be given tests at school to do at home.

Other family members are supposed to do two tests a week, you can either get these done through your work if possible, or pick up from a testing centre, or order online.

As I understand it, all secondary school pupils will be asked to take 3 tests (not compulsory though) in school. Some are choosing to call pupils in this week to do the first, others will do it on the first day back in school. After that, pupils will be asked to test at home twice a week, with test kits provided via school.

All members of a household or support bubble that includes primary or secondary aged pupils can choose to also test twice a week. This can be done through work (if offered), at a test centre or at home. If you want kits to test at home you will need to order them online or collect from a test centre (they won't be provided via school).

Info and link to order tests here. If you order online, they send a box with seven tests in, this is for one person, so you have to put in orders for each person. If you go to a testing centre you can pick up four boxes at a time I think.

DS's secondary school has the same system.

Exactly the same as my DDs school. I picked up a pack of seven tests today from the collection point and I'll get some more next week.
