New shielding letters

Has anyone who didn't previously have a shielding letter recently get one when the list was increased?

Did it notify you that you were Clinically extremely vulnerable or clinically vulnerable?

I've had a slightly confusing e-mail from work which suggests there are two different letters.

I'm one of the original shielders. Surely they are only sending them to CEV. My DH is CV and has never received a letter.

The easiest way for us to ensure your early vaccination is to include you within the list of people who are clinically extremely vulnerable (also known as the shielded patient list).

This is what mine says.

This is my latest letter.

Thanks.
The e-mail suggests there are 2 letters being sent by the government. One is a notification of being CEV (high risk), the other is notification of being CV. I've never received a letter either, despite being CV (moderate risk) so I'm wondering if they've made a mistake and assumed people will have got a letter.

Yes my DH had one last week ,he was diagnosed with Diabetes just before the start of the Pandemic ,and has had various recurring infections over the past year ,he was deemed clinically vulnerable before and he's now told told to sheild ,as he's now clinically extremely vulnerable,he's worked through the worst months of the Pandemic ,in a warehouse with limited social distancing ,but now things are going in the right direction and we have both been vaccinated he has to sheild🤷

That's what I'm trying to work out, x2boys. A year after I asked to wfh and was refused and a month after my jab they now seem to be offering CV staff the option to work from home or stay home on full pay if they can't work from home.

Which does seem slightly odd and I don't think that's what they actually mean.

Only CEV get a letter, not CV. There are a group of newly identified CEV who have received new shielding letters recently, maybe this is what they’re referring to.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 03/03/2021 14:46

That’s how I’d initially read it, racoon. But the more I read it, the more I’m sure that’s not what it says. That’s why I was wondering whether the wording on the letters to the people who’d been added to push them up the vaccine queue was different.

That is exactly what it is though. CV don’t get letters. CV who are newly identified as CEV do. They have been added into group 4 and are therefore priority for a vaccine. If you are CV and not newly identified as CEV you won’t get a letter and still group 6 for vaccine.

Racoonworld · 03/03/2021 15:47

Therefore yes there are two different letters, for two groups of people but they are all for CEV. One for the original CEV group, and another got the newly identified CEV group.
