Does anyone know how we order the test kits for home use. I have primary aged children. I believe we can order them online from today ready for the school return next Monday. Thank you.

gov website here

But they're not there yet. I've just checked. Will be keeping an eye on it

I thought it might go live at 8am but nothing yet. My local lateral flow centre is a tiny community hall. Maybe the council needs to discuss how this will work practically with the centre beofre they start releasing the kits. Since this was only announced over the weekend

Incogweeto · 01/03/2021 08:24

I thought they were coming from the school?

slidingdrawers · 01/03/2021 08:31

@Incogweeto Schools supply the tests for pupils (after the initial 3 on site). These I believe are for households with primary/secondary age pupils.

OrangeBananaFish · 01/03/2021 08:46

Yes I'm wanting them for me and DH.

OrangeBananaFish · 01/03/2021 10:40

10:40 and still not updated. Am I looking in the wrong place?

TheDrsDocMartens · 01/03/2021 10:42

Our local centres aren’t showing anyway.

OrangeBananaFish · 01/03/2021 11:11

Our local centres aren’t showing anyway

I never had any shown before and now the link for them has disappeared (to collect them that is)

The closest place to go to get a LFT is in a different county area to me and as far as I'm aware you can only get one if you live there or work there which I do neither (I'm only 1.5 miles out of that county though)

TheDrsDocMartens · 01/03/2021 11:15

I got Stockport which is 3+ hours drive 🤷🏻‍♀️

DavidsSchitt · 01/03/2021 11:37

Still can't see them online

gamerchick · 01/03/2021 11:40

I've seen them online but just on a site selling PPE.

mrsnw · 01/03/2021 12:38

Mmmm, might be being a bit optimistic expecting them to be available from today.

Its been updated, I've just ordered a pack

Autumn101 · 01/03/2021 12:48

They’re online now 👍

mrsnw · 01/03/2021 12:49

Yes, all ordered. Thank you

I've just order 7 for dh.

StillDumDeDumming · 01/03/2021 13:37

It says to collect if you can. I live in town and can collect but then it says the centre is for schools only whereas I'm just a parent. Hmmm.

StillDumDeDumming · 01/03/2021 13:37

Sorry that's for my specific collection centre.

sunnyday1976 · 01/03/2021 14:57

@StillDumDeDumming my local centre says the same. I wanted to collect too, as it is v much 'don't order for delivery unless you need to'.

Eccle80 · 01/03/2021 15:05

@StillDumDeDumming and @sunnyday1976 I read the bit saying Schools LFD kit collection only as meaning it was just for parents to pick up, not for any tests to happen on site. But maybe I have misinterpreted it!

iVampire · 01/03/2021 15:09

They really want people to pick up from a local test centre if at all possible

Leaving home delivery only for those who really can’t get to or shouldn’t attend a centre

I’ve ordered for delivery (CEV) and it all seemed to work, and they should turn up in next 2-3 days

moominmomma1234 · 01/03/2021 15:18

I also cant work out of the schools only mean for this school parent scheme or for the Secondary pupil testing scheme ! All the centres near me say school only

Tyzz · 01/03/2021 15:44

My understanding is that the school provide them for the child but the family can order them for the rest of the household.

StillDumDeDumming · 01/03/2021 16:19

I have Wednesday off so I think I'll pop up there then. There's no phone number for mine. Presumably you don't need to order but just turn up. Does seem there'll be a lot of people in one place in terms of traffic

sunnyday1976 · 01/03/2021 16:59

I've just been out to take DD for her first LFT at school, so while I was out thought I nip to the walk in centre that is shown as 'Schools LFD kit collection' on the NHS map. I wasn't sure if this meant parents or just pupils.
As a parent, I was able to pick up 2 of the test packs (14 in total), and was told to go back whenever we need any more.
