The new guidance on families getting lateral flow tests so they can test twice a week does it include nursery age and pre school children?

Dolciedolly · 28/02/2021 22:58

We don't test my son we test ourselves

SquirtleSquad · 28/02/2021 22:59

Where do we get these tests from?

JC17fj74 · 28/02/2021 23:02

The information in the .gov site says primary and secondary school age so seems unlikely at this point, although it may be expanded I guess.

Link here for the poster that asked, although the page hasn’t been updated yet for ordering, guess it will at some point today

I work in a private nursery and we haven’t even got tests for ourselves never mind the children or their families

ginsparkles · 01/03/2021 06:33

The link above states secondary school pupils, but it says primary school staff. I understood it to mean that primary pupils are not being tested.

I think they are referring to the childcare bubble of children in primary school. Not childcare as in nursery unfortunately.

No eyfs will not be getting the home tests for children or parents. It's shocking they haven't had them for workers until very recently (and only in certain areas and settings). Our childcare would have to take 2 hours off twice a week to go to the hub, have the test and get the result. Which would take them under ratio so none of them have been able to go. This needs to be corrected but the government have said no.
