What have I missed

While getting some essential from my local shop I spotted, lots of teenagers hanging around in the park alongside the shop, inside was also full of large groups of people shopping, I havent seen it this busy since before lockdown just wondered if there was an announcement I had missed. The last one I listened to said it was starting with the return of schools on 8th March, but has this now changed to allow meeting up with others in outdoor spaces?

There were loads of gangs of teenage boys about when I went out for a walk yesterday. It was probably because the weather was quite nice. They didn't look the type to care much about covid regulations to be honest.

sunnydaleslayer · 27/02/2021 17:09

I think you know you haven't missed anything.

You and the eleventy-seven other posters who've asked the same thing the last week.

secretllama · 27/02/2021 17:10

People have basically been banned from socialising for nearly a year. Youre asking why they are starting to socialise, do you honestly not know why they'd do this?

Undisclosedlocation · 27/02/2021 17:13

Oh good, another righteous indignation thread Grin

beela · 27/02/2021 17:13

Another faux naive thread. Getting a bit boring now.

This.

The number of threads starting with ‘what have I missed’, when they know full well they haven’t missed anything, is disingenuous and bloody annoying

Exactly

Is anyone else thinking of writing a cut and paste response to stupid questions like these?

Yes, me.
Ch3rish · 27/02/2021 17:17

Oh come on, how can you not work it out for yourself, this whole tpoc is getting so boring and repetative

IcedPurple · 27/02/2021 17:19

No you didn't. You and the approximately 79 others who have written similar silly posts are just looking for a chance to come over all superior, as you're dreading such opportunities being taken away from you quite soon.

I really am.

I don't think this thread has gone the way the OP planned

CheeseJalapenoBread · 27/02/2021 17:22

It’s because they’re all terrible human beings who only care about themselves and who are selfishly killing people. You are morally superior and pure of motive.

Is that OK?

dingit · 27/02/2021 17:22

Op, bore off

Wherediditgo · 27/02/2021 17:23

I went out to the park with my son earlier - just got back. It was so nice to see so many people out in the sunshine. The park was packed!

TheSultanofPingu · 27/02/2021 17:23

I'm afraid I don't blame them tbh. We're a year into this now, apart from a few weeks of relaxation of rules.
People want to enjoy the sunshine and get out a bit. I don't bloody blame them.

OliveTree75 · 27/02/2021 17:28

HadEnoughOfBears · 27/02/2021 17:29

You know fine well you haven't missed anything.

You've just come on here to start a judgy thread. Oh and also why not have a go at teenagers while you're there? Nobody's done that for a while 🙄

Chimeraforce · 27/02/2021 17:32

Yeah I passed a group of underage teens busily buying up the contents of the cider fridge in the co-op.
I know they were underage as they were squabbling over being "I. D'd".
Lots of people out and about at the park yesterday. I was the only one on my own.
People getting on with things, can't really stop it.

Kakiweewee · 27/02/2021 17:37

My twelve year old started talking about feeling the urge to hurt themself and having suicidal thoughts. I'm starting to feel like their wellbeing might have to take some sort of precedence over certain lockdown rules.

They are looking at summer school or repeating a year at school, possibly even special school if they can't get control of behaviour and school work. They've had the shittest year possible and they're feeling isolated and stressed out.

I can see why other parents have started being looser with teenagers going outside.
