Jury service, any experiences?

Hi,

I received summons papers today for jury service in April today. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this or know anyone during lockdown/social distancing? There is not much information in the letter about Covid protocols apart from I don't have to travel to court unless I've been contacted by a jury officer for a trial. Previously I believe jurors had to wait to at the court to be selected each day. Thanks 👍

Hi, my husband completed jury service recently. He was told the same, they will let you know about a week before if you are needed. He still went everyday as usual even though it was a few days until he was needed.

Strict social distancing in place, waiting area all separate chairs and tables 2m apart, everyone is given a specific seat to use. Masks must be worn all the time until in court room when it is optional. In court room all jurors are 2m apart with plastic screens either side of them. Deliberation room all socially distanced too. He said it was very well organised.

No cafe or drinks facilities on site so take all food and drink you’ll need with you each day.
