Lymph Nodes

I had my 2nd vaccine two days ago. Last night I had a pain under my left arm. I have woken up this morning with a lump on my clavicle. Presume it is a reaction to the vaccine.

Has anyone else had this? Did a brief Google search and it said to delay mammograms as the vaccine can mimic breast cancer symptoms.

I’m back to normal. Took about a month..

MummaPI · 16/05/2021 20:01

That's good.Smile

Qualia81 · 16/05/2021 20:11

Hi @MummaPI, same as you. Still there but smaller and seems to be disappearing under my collar bone slowly....it is taking time though. It's been just over two weeks so far. I'm not so worried now as it's definitely not getting bigger and feels smaller, although not completely gone. I guess we were just 'lucky' and had one of the interesting side effects!!

MummaPI · 16/05/2021 20:21

Hi @Qualia81
Nice to hear from you, sounds like we are the same time wise. I'm just over 2 weeks and seems smaller. Still hate it, weirdly I'm quite squeamish over collarbones and I'm not squeamish at all normally! Keep me posted on yours please Flowers

Hi all,
I'm 5 weeks with my lymph node now and struggling tonight. I've had blood tests which were ok, I wish it would go.

Jenasaurus · 05/06/2021 23:03

This a concern for me as my DD, aged 26 is being investigated for enlarged lymph nodes, she has had several tests and went to have a biopsy a month ago but was told as all herlymph nodes are inflammed it could actually make things worse to do a biopsy at that stage, they carried out a scan and found cysts on her thyroid. She is being investigated for the cause, as she is permanently tired comes home from work and goes straight to bed. Now she will be getting her vaccine shortly and hearing that this also causes swollen lymph nodes is quite worrying as she is already battling something anyway.

Jenasaurus · 05/06/2021 23:06

One thing I did wonder is, whether COVID itself causes this same symptom as my DD was very unwell in Jan 2020 after returning from abroad, so unwell she went into hospital with kidney damage. dehyrdration and a temperature they couldnt get down, she actually thought she was dying, but this was before COVID was here so she was never tested, just wondering if her permanently swollen lymph nodes are actually long covid.

MummaPI · 05/06/2021 23:15

I have read something online about people who have had covid are more likely to get them but you never know how true it is. I think I had covid in Jan 2020 as well, I was very poorly with all the symptoms.

I had my second AZ on Wednesday. No lymph node issues with the first, but with this one my left armpit swelled up and was extremely tender. It hurt to move that arm, and my bra was uncomfortable. Today it seems to have calmed down and isn’t anywhere near as painful.

TheSockMonster · 06/07/2021 16:15

I know this thread is a month old, but I’m so grateful to have found it!

Had my second AZ Saturday and noticed a painful swollen lymph node by my collarbone this morning. Got back from work and made the mistake of googling it Shock

The NHS site says to make an appointment with a GP for lymph nodes near the collarbone, but the receptionist at our practice said you can’t get an appointment for just swollen lymph nodes until they’ve been swollen for at least 2 weeks.

I didn’t put two and two together about the vaccine until I found this thread. Oh the relief!

Goldenbear · 06/07/2021 21:06

I just came across this as have very painful lump in armpit lymph node area, it came up a week after my second AZ vaccine. It feels like it is getting bigger since Sunday. It is hard and more Malteaser size. It is the side my vaccine was on. This is obviously a normalish reaction. Indo feel run down and muscles ache, it is making me feel sick as well.

Mangomoonlight · 07/07/2021 03:39

Had this too- it didn’t start until nearly a week after Pfizer. Really worried me. Lasted about a week.
Due second dose this week so will be interesting to see if it reappears…

Choccymumma · 19/07/2021 16:54

Revising this thread to see how people are doing? My lymph node stayed up until my second dose (12 weeks) although wasn't as noticeable and is now up again. Saw GP today and being referred for an ultrasound sound, blood tests ok.

Choccymumma · 19/08/2021 19:17

Reviving this thread to see if anyone is still having trouble with a lymph node. Mine has been more sore since my second jab, still waiting for an ultrasound but GP still.not concerned by it. It can be really sore at times.

Twoweekcruise · 08/12/2021 15:46

I’m hoping I can revive this thread and see how everyone is now doing and have their swollen glands settled?
I had my second Pfizer jab on Saturday. Was worried about side effects as I felt so nauseous after my first but I’ve been ok, a little tired maybe but that’s about it.
However, I woke this morning and noticed that I felt a little sore in the collarbone area (on the same side that I had the vaccine), then I noticed that there is a swelling of the lymph node in that area. I am a real worrier and made the mistake of googling so now panicking like crazy.
Most people I know are vaccinated but I don’t know anyone who had this side effect.

Alltheblue · 08/12/2021 15:59

Yes totally normal

FictionalCharacter · 08/12/2021 16:02

Yep, I woke up the night after my Moderna booster with a jabbing pain in my armpit, and realised straight away it was a lymph node kicking off. Luckily it settled down very quickly, but Javelin Armpit was a new one for me!

Twoweekcruise · 08/12/2021 16:28

Thank you, I have been so worried today.

Nowayoutonlydown · 08/12/2021 18:44

I had similar. Several days after my first dose I had a lymph node up under my armpit. The GP actually saw me F2F, and referred me for an emergency appointment at the breast clinic, they said that they had seen a few cases similar after covid vaccines.

Please try not to worry, give it another week, if its still there, speak with a GP, they'll be able to get you referred to have it checked over.
