Carers in Wales

I wondered if anyone in Wales who is a carer has had their vaccination yet?

My DH (group 6) has a date for his and I wondered if there is any mileage in me calling the vaccination centre to see if I could be done at the same time, it would make so much sense. But I don't want to be pushy. I receive Carer's Allowance and can easily provide proof of that.

I would go with him and ask, I know people who have done that and they have said yes. not sure about ringing though. It might depend how busy they are on the day.

OK - I have to go with him anyway. Thanks.

My neighbour just took her husband and they vaccinated on the spot, apparently. That was Cwmbran vaccination hub. She didn’t ring ahead.

Oh, That is really useful to know @Lupinhere37. Do you know if your neighbour asked or whether the vaccinator offered? Thanks.

Sorry; just saw this. My neighbour just pitched up and asked outright. Her husband is 73 and CEV due to autoimmune and Neuro disease. She is 68 and healthy; at that point not entitled to her vaccine.
She just said from an infection control point of view it made no sense for her to attend twice and they agreed, I believe without argument.

Haven’t been jabbed yet but have asked gp to put me on the carers list and they said that puts me in group 6

You need to get it on your medical records that you are a carer or you won’t be flagged as eligible. They won’t be able to do that at the vaccination centre

BungleandGeorge thanks, it's already on my medical record.

Lupinhere37 I might try that approach when I take my husband for his jab! It does make a lot of sense.
