Just that really? I don’t see how I can ever get back to normal.
Prior to this I didn’t really think about virus’s / illnesses.
But now it’s all I think about.

I just can’t imagine going back to normal.

Yep, I can. Not scared of Covid or any other virus.

Racoonworld · 22/02/2021 20:45

You’ll feel much better when it happens. Right now we’re still in lockdown and it all feels very real. Once it begins to ease, its summer and people are out everywhere itl feel much more like normal and you’ll get back into it quickly. Just take it in small steps.

AllMyPrettyOnes · 22/02/2021 20:46

Absolutely.

Jackie2022 · 22/02/2021 20:48

I certainly will! It’s only been around a year of this after all. I’m 24 so spent 23 years of my life as “normal”, 1 year isn’t enough to make me forget what normal life is like. If you’re older than me, you surely are more set in your ways and would be better adapted to snap back as 1 year is less significant to you

AnotherCovidQuestion · 22/02/2021 20:49

Can't wait to, to be honest.

And I've got no fully working immunity after chemotherapy wiped it out.

But I'm scared, plus I'm vaccinated, and I always gelled my hands after touching doors and keypads after chemo anyway so was Sofia distancing long before COVID came along.

Useruseruserusee · 22/02/2021 20:50

I think it will take some time for us all to mentally recover, even those of us who have been lucky enough to not be severely impacted. It’s a big thing we are all living through.

But I firmly believe it will be OK with the passing of time.

Way to make many of us feel super old, thanks Smile Wine

But yes, i think so. It may take a little adjustment, and it isn't going to be 100% back to as we were as of June (theatres etc won't be 100% full, for example) but ...yes.

CheeseJalapenoBread · 22/02/2021 20:52

I can go back to normal easily. I’m not particularly concerned about getting Covid. Prefer not to but if I do, I do.

Beaniecats · 22/02/2021 20:53

Yes

MrBullinaChinaShop · 22/02/2021 20:53

Yes I can. It’s a risk... we encounter risks every day of our lives. I’m happy to live with this one.
I cannot wait to get back to the live that I worked so hard to make exactly how I wanted.

zzizzer · 22/02/2021 20:57

I'm worried it's going to be difficult for us too OP, but we'll get used to it. Humans are really adaptable. Little by little, and no rush - some of us can be slower than others, let them have their time rushing ahead Smile

bellagogosdead · 22/02/2021 20:57

Yup easy as that. I could give almost anyone a cuddle.Blush

Jackie2022 · 22/02/2021 21:02

@PatriciaHolm sorry, I worded that badly. I meant say a primary school kid might find it harder to adjust back as a year makes up a higher percentage of their life experience? Whereas I’m an adult that has lived long enough to not see the past year as normal so no long term concerns for me personally

PatriciaHolm · 22/02/2021 21:08

@Jackie2022 don't worry! S'ok! (feeling every bit my nearly -50 this week ;-))

I do see what you mean. It's much more, for example, as a proportion of my 9 year old SD's life, or even my teenagers, than me.

RandomGrammarPun · 22/02/2021 21:12

Haha...Yes, year 7s said to me today "has it really been less than a year, Miss?" I said, "yes, it really has." "Wow, it feels like at least three..." I said, "that's because you are very, very young" Grin
